Mr. Bastard You are correct in your assumption. These knives are assembled from NOS parts. Not too many were done, and the parts are all gone, now. They are the product of Coltillerie Vernier. Lepre (rabbit) is their trademark. The knives are assembled by the son or grandson of the 1950s Vernier. Th...

If it was your intention to build it that way, and you like it, I think it's great, too!

Jimmyvern I think it's really good! Now for the constructive criticism- there was no need to taper the thickness of the scales, since you left the lever spring exposed. You could have thinned them all the way to the front bolsters. Unless, of course, you LIKE it that way. In that case, it's perfect!...

Thank you, all! I'm honored.
I figure it this way- I've been doing this work for so long, I figure I'll be pushing up daisies before too many people catch up with me in the work department!

I have not read it, but it should be good. Jantz has others, also.

Vagrant
I agree the Leverletto is a $100 knife, but so are the other $150 knives on the market.
I just think some buyers may actually be put off by the $80 retail, thinking the knife is not a particularly good value, or of good quality. It, of course, is.

Why, sure!
I retired on the proceeds after it was introduced. ;^)
Actually, the Leverletto is a $150 retail knife, but was designed to sell for around half of that. The low retail price may have given it a "cheap, or inferior" image to those people who think that more expensive is always better.

That entirely depends on what the coin or medallion is made of. If the material is zinc (pot metal), soft lead solder won't even work. The zinc will melt first. If the material is brassw, bronze, nickel, silver, gold or similar metal with a high melting point, then true silver solder would be the be...

It would best be inlaid flush with, or below the surface of the handle. A bit of epoxy behind it will hold it there.
Stones would properly set into a metal bezel, and the bezel either inlaid as above, or hard soldered to metal before the stone is set.. Consult a jeweler for the bezel

Cleaning and lubricating are two different things. WD 40 will displace any moisture in the knife, and leave some small degree of rust protection in places you can't get with other oils. Brake parts cleaner will clean, but it can dissolve plastic and glues. A WD 40 bath should be used after brake par...

OK- First look at some leverlock pictures on our host's sites, to get an idea of what the knife is supposed to look like. Rivet the lever spring and cover to the liner. Next, I need to know whether the scales (handles) have a hole in them for the backspring pin. If they do, then go ahead and rivet t...

You flip the lever toward the backspring, and then you can push the button.
