I turned 63 on 12/01/17. Time on this earth is limited for all. This is the main reason that I prefer "working knives". Honest marks on a knife illustrate that it hasn't sat in someone's desk or sock drawer gathering dust and rust.

So many become ensnared in aesthetics. While I love a great looking knife if the "dog won't hunt" it can only serve its time sitting in your lap. This isn't the point of the "working breed". Honest wear is not only a badge of honor, it adds character.

Lovely knives. Have you purchased any for personal use? The 3.25" handle and the 2.5" blades on those little lever locks seem handy, "pocketable" and quite useful.

Does the configuration of the Chinese knife work well as a carry/cutting implement?

Did you have any part in designing the AKC slim line? They look almost identical except for the bolster quillions.

How did he "improve" the knife? Was it simply cosmetic?

This AKC lever lock should be a nice addition to my carry rotation. The "swedge" blade has a certain appeal to it. Does anyone own one of these? How amenable is it to pouch, or pocket carry?

Inquiring minds want to know.

You're right. The Ripper doesn't need a safety. This knife will be great for display. As you know, my personal configuration will make it far more amenable to carry and use. Evidently, you agree.
