The engraving looks great. How long does it take to do that to four bolsters?
And were the guards missing so you made those?

Re: Group or Collection Pictures
Here is my Rizzuto collection (Japanese PLs are included). There are a few that aren't in this pic. I'll update it in the next few days. http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj526/JimBrown257/Rizzutos%201/2-18-14_zps0554d6c0.jpg EDIT: TB often cuts the right side off my Photobucket images unless I ma...

Re: Custom 7 Inch Rizzuto Step Bolster
Looks like you are getting the hang of it. Blade peak can be a hard thing to fix. Bonsa knives are even worse than Rizzutos to fix sometimes. Did you throw a set of washers in there before you put it back together? No, something like that didn't occur to me. Would that have made it fire more smooth...

Re: Pre-Rizzuto
I bet a lot of people, even those familiar with that knife, wouldn't have noticed those aren't original guards. Or, if they did notice it, the pin would be the give-away.

Re: Pre-Rizzuto
Was it the guards themselves or the pin that gave them away as a replacement?Bill DeShivs wrote:Interesting. Your guards have been replaced.

Re: Custom 7 Inch Rizzuto Step Bolster
Those look pretty good. They could actually pass for the original guards (the pin might not, though).
What did you use to make them? I mean, what was the metal?

Re: Custom 7 Inch Rizzuto Step Bolster
It went from about 1/8 inch peak to what you see now after about 12- 15 tries. For those of you who don't know, that is dry fitting it and taking it apart that many times. I fixed the peek on a Bonsa Springer recently and it took about that many times of taking it apart and then re-assembling it and...

Re: Custom 7 Inch Rizzuto Step Bolster
That's a cool one. You know what you should try with those BW guards: make the lines at the edges more diagonal (so they are coming inward at a sharper angle as they go down). That would make them look more like the Batwings on the Rizzutos. And what did you do to make that one sit so well? Was that...

Re: Custom 7 Inch Rizzuto Step Bolster
If you ever have to replace a rocker spring, please don't ever do this. I have seen 3 this year like it Do you mean put that little pen-spring under the button? I replaced one of those springs with the small section of a hacksaw blade. It works well. Although, it's a bit stiffer than I would have wa...

Re: WTB Bull Fighter
What AGA are you hoping to find? Like to get the Siciliano and have swing guards put on it. That sounds awesome. I'm pretty sure that I have seen Sicilianos with swingers on it but I don't know if it was made like that or the guards were added later. Which style of guards are you thinking of puttin...

Re: Custom 7 Inch Rizzuto Step Bolster
That looks awesome. Anyone who has worked (or tried) to work on a Rizzy really has to appreciate that one. And is there any chance we could see the rocker you made? I'd like to see what yours look like. And how did you attach the button to the rocker? I have a steel rocker made for an 11" (the 11s a...
