Slowly... you know all those mistakes you make when restoring your first knife. Mis-cutting and mis-shaping rockers, cutting your scales to the same size as the shrunken stock ones... twice. Then realizing you should cut them oversized. Googling and watching how to videos on how to solder correctly....

I only payed 144 ish. Least that's what my order summary says.

Bill has guided us all on how to fix it. Once I've gathered the items, I'll think about doing it... then change my mind, it will go on like that for a while before I sack up and break out of my comfort zone. For now, I'm not worried about it, it's just going on display. As for cost... its cheaper bu...

I can guarantee those shows beat my local ones... small town gun/knife shows suck compared to my good ol' fort worth shows...

Completely worth every penny... I'd place a wager that if you asked for something cherry picked they'd come through for you. I didn't ask, I rolled the proverbial random wheel upon checkout.

I don't feel like I sniped/cut it/in from anyone. I payed over what my winning bids were anyway. The seller saw how valuable the items were. Oh, both sellers sent the correct items, you all have seen them both now...

Hmmm don't know about these shows.... are they worth it?

Did we discuss if there was a difference between the etching variation? I'm assuming they came from the same place? (We all know what that means...) Or are we just walther fans?

Thanks everyone! That is a very nice piece that ought to clean up well. I know many here love "patina", but cleaning it and oiling it to stop the oxidation is important in my book. Great catch. Brass liners... I was really hoping that was the "newbie" way of telling fakes vs real. I know that the 440 is a small giveaway. When can we compile the "idiots guide to telling the difference between fakes and real". I would be the first to purchase a copy...
