I will wager it has good steel Luke ,they dont make them like this anymore .
I agree its too huge to be practical but would be a great knife for a western .
"Remember the Alamo" springs to mind with Jim Bowie .Love that film and most old western flicks America has kindly give us brits .

Saw this old bad boy in Auction and thought I would share it here. It wasn't just the knife but also the beaded buffalo hide sheath that popped out to me aswell. The knife must be around 1860s -70s and is made by Hallam of Sheffield . Looks like a real old west piece but although I always wanted one...

Luke I dont think they would have me ,I havn't always been good in my youth.
But if they would have me and I was a bit healthier and younger and also had sufficient money to move there.... I would be on a plane in a heartbeat my mate .

Also like the Ka bars ,Esees ,Tops etc but I dont get out as much as I used to with my knives for bushcraft ,used to love shelter building making bows, arrows ,knives etc ....really miss it I wish I lived in the U.S would be o...

I see Luke .So no good for bushcraft my mistake . Still its a looker and maybe a good skinner.. I like scandi grinds they usually do away with that problem ,good for batoning and easy to sharpen . Great italian transitional Johns . Really nice stag as hearandgone said and great build quality . I am not 100 % sure, but I think Enee may be a French retailer who have added their stamp for selling in France . I also have had no success on finding anything about the dagger apart from when I bought it .Then it was listed as an Egyptian commando dagger by the German seller.
