Re: Movie Switchblades

Thanx fellas. I need to brush up on Schrade designs. It was the bevel on the top that threw me. That bevel might actually make it some other kind of subset of the clip-point (like a swedge clip-point or something). Basically, a clip-point is when it looks like they clipped a piece off of the blade ...

If you're asking about the actual blade on the knife, I believe it's a clip-point.

I think it's an old Flylock like this one. You can see the elongated button in the first pic that RSD100 posted a page back.

Re: Movie Switchblades

Most of the American autos listed in this thread were in movies made prior to 1958 like that one. It makes sense if you think about it. I just searched the thread for "American"; it looks like they did virtually stop appearing in movies in 1958. Although, they weren't too common even before them. I...

That's cool, you don't usually see vintage American autos in movies.

Re: A.Beltrame- New Revolution DARK RAM HORN!!!

Great knife. Are those scales dyed black or is there ram's horn that comes naturally in that color? From pics I've seen, rams do have darker areas on their horns (usually near the bottom) but I don't think I've ever seen something as black as that. I also really like the stamp (or is that an etch?) ...

Re: Imperial.

Sweet old pair Jim. I think I like the blade shape on your Candy-stripe more than the white one, though. I agree. When I first saw pictures of the blade on the Imperial (white one) I thought it must have been sharpened down a few mms but once I got it, I see it is just a skinnier blade shape. Both ...

Re: collection of my Rizzuto.

Rene, Don't forget to post your pics in the Rizzuto thread on SD: http://www.sharperdeal.biz/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=6199 I'm especially interested in having a pic of that 11 Inch step bolster (4th from left in top picture). Does that one have horn scales? Also, a picture of the 11 inch Batwing ...

Re: Imperial.

I have a white Imperial Dixie Switch (bottom pic) and a Hammer brand toothpick auto (top pic). The handles are the same but they have a slightly different blade shape. They have the exact same patent numbers on the back stamp. Both of them have the double spine and single kick spring.

Re: Any word on those Beltrame Trap Doors?

I never understood the popularity of the trap door design beyond it's rarity. I can't agree more. Maybe he did some market research and decided against it. I would be suprised if that didn't happen. It's more a gravity knife than an auto. How so? They are spring loaded, aren't they? I know they shu...

Re: Unusually, search for 9 inch Rizzutos.

(I can help you with the wording) Our friend, Switch King, is looking to buy any kind of 9 inch Rizzuto (Japanese, Korean, etc...). He lives in Germany; because of German knife-laws, he needs the blade and the handle shipped seperately. Then he will put the pieces back together. Many of you have Riz...

Both are just fantastic, cheers to Mr. Nemo for his excellent work. 8) They really are great. In fact, I like them so much that I have been pouring through my other manuals (as well as pages of Ebay) looking for something else to have Chad convert. I don't know what happened with the KC but when I f...
