Chinese manufacturers being more clever?

So I’m sure you’ve seen all the Chinese “AKC” variant stilettos that have been flooding the market. It’s gotten so bad that AKC themselves are now having certain knives manufactured in China like the Roma swinguards and those curved stilettos under a banner called AKC World. One of those “if you can...

Incredible collection here!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BuD8D-X56jo&t=5s&pp=ygUNRW5vY2ggbWFsaWt5ZQ%3D%3D There has to be at least 180 knives here! Has switchblades from Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, France, Spain, and the US! I wonder if this is the same collection that the YouTuber “picktheblueone” had shown years...

Re: I believe that this is a Chinese knock off of an AKC

Managed to get a couple more pictures of the knife along with some of the others that were in the same lot and may add to why I believe it to be Chinese knock off. Nice stag on the one and they all work good but really don't look like Italian quality to me and no brass liners on any of them. Actual...

Re: Appreciate Any Observations On An Old Picklock

That knife needs taken to a professional. It will likely need to be taken apart and have the spring and rivets replaced. May need new scales as well.

Where do they sell Contini knives? Don’t recall seeing any on the sites where I usually shop for switchblades.

Re: Chinese? Italian? Worth fixing?

You got a good deal on this one at $60. If the safety is the only thing wrong with it, I personally wouldn’t worry about it. When it comes to stilettos I make it a point not to carry my genuine Italian ones. Those strictly stay in my collection as I would probably have a breakdown if I lost one of t...

Re: Does anyone on this site enjoy cheap Chinese autos for "click therapy"?

I keep them around specifically for that. Just to play around with while watching TV. If they break, no biggie. It’s my high end Italian knives that I try to leave alone. If one of them broke, it would cost a bit to send them to a professional to have them fixed.

Does anybody else find this annoying?

So I had someone comment on one of my knife video shorts on YouTube that the Italian-style stiletto switchblade I was showing off wasn’t a switchblade because “a switchblade shoots straight out.” I proceeded to correct him by telling him that is wrong and that by definition, anything that opens auto...

That giant fish one in the top photo looks like it might require two hands to open it! How much does it weigh?

Well, it's "official"...Direct from the source, Angelo's online store. AKC WORLD. My heart is officially broken. 'Tis a dark day, folks! https://i.imgur.com/ldkIn9W.jpg Ugh! Whoever thought that design was a good idea must have been smoking dope! LOL! The Roma’s on the other hand are actually prett...

Re: alphabetized list of Switchblades in Films

Spotted a couple switchblades in 1990’s Skinned Alive. One appeared to be a black EdgeCo Black Finger OTF and another appeared to be a red Japanese “Bullfighter” leverlock.

Re: AKC Roma - Clarification of Origin

I noticed the AKC World stamp on a few of the knives that have popped up recently. So I guess we can assume Angelo arranged to have a Chinese company produce some AKC products? With the way things are at the moment and everything coming from China these days, wouldn’t surprise me if he decided it wa...

Re: Rizzy Confusion...

They are both legit. The one on the left is likely from the 1960s and the other one was probably made in the 1970s. Although some collectors are critical of these knives because they are cheaply made, they are old enough now that there is a high interest in them. The Rizzuto was in many movies and ...
