Re: S&W.
On mine, the release lever is attached to the backspring, so I don't think it meets the requirement for assisted opener. And the bias is for opening due to the coil spring, and it is overcome by raising the backspring. I kind of like the design, and wish there was a higher quality version available-...

Re: S&W.
I have a dual action knife powered by a coil spring. As a matter of fact, here is a thread I started about them not long after I joined this forum: http://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11620 It basically works like a slip joint or manual lockback, but with a spring. That is, pressure from t...

Re: Romney Ad
Mr. Turbo_dog, By voting third party you will show that you are a man of principle. That's mos' admirable, but it might be cutting off your nose to spite your face... Whilst Romney ain't no great shakes, he's a helluva lot more betterness than the imposter we have now. By voting for Romney, adlest ...

Re: Romney Ad
The lesser of two evils is still evil... After proclaiming my self a libertarian for years, I've finally decided to actually vote for the Libertarian candidate this year. I always thought that a vote for a third party candidate was a wasted vote, and it well may be, but I will vote on my beliefs thi...

Re: A new Maniago
I also like the idea of a trap door, and of a "rizzuto" style knife. But this thread made me think of the style I would most like to see, albeit not really new (http://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=19548) I would love to see a flat grind damascus blade, or possibly carbon steel, or D2 blad...

Re: Found
^^ thats one of my favorite styles of autos to EDC. 8 inches is about as big as I want to carry. They are classic looking, and there are no guards to hang up on stuff in the pocket. And a lever lock is safe to carry in the pocket with no safety. If I had one with a flat grind spearpoint instead of a...

Re: NO COMMENT
I don't know a lot about the criteria for possible military commendations they could get, but you would think they would at least get Purple Hearts. We are at war and they were active duty soldiers that were attacked by an enemy- the worst kind of enemy: one that poses as one of your own. It doesn't...

Re: Socialcrats are determined to tell you how to live !
It's a pretty stupid and toothless change. It only affects drinks sold in restaurants, and doesn't stop anyone from buying 2 (or more) drinks to satisfy their thirst. 'You can still buy large bottles in stores, but in a restaurant, 16 ounces is the maximum that they would be able to serve in one cup...

Re: osama bin barak's "gangbangers"
If you don't count political office and book writing, Teddy Roosevelt never had a job either. That discounts his heroism in the Spanish/Americn war. - I will let your post stand - the mindless comprison will speak forever  [read the subjects and variety of T,R.'s books and compare them to osa...

Re: osama bin barak's "gangbangers"
Nobody seemed to make a big deal about W's alcohol abuse and cocaine use. The hell you say! Are you forgetting that W's DWI was reported just before the election? The media made it a VERY " big deal " and definitely had an effect on the election. As far as cocaine use, I don't recall him admitting ...

Makes no difference to me. If you don't count political office and book writing, Teddy Roosevelt never had a job either.
The drug use doesn't make much difference either. Nobody seemed to make a big deal about W's alcohol abuse and cocaine use.

Re: Small slip joint for my daughter
Beautiful knife. I also love slip joint knives. I have never built any knife from scratch, but I would assume that slipjoints are the most difficult to get exactly right, especially if you don't make a lot and have patterns to work from. The blade shape is very nice. Since there is no nail nick, I a...

Re: New Missouri Switchblade Law
...While we're on the subject, has anyone here ever had an automatic knife from their collection "collected" by a taxpayer-paid, badge-wearing thief? yep- but they were illegal in the state I was in, and he didn't charge me, so I assume he kept it. He may have turned it in at the station. I'll neve...

Re: Marriage
Wow. There are so many posts here to respond to I don't even know where to start! I knew this would be discussed here, and I think it's a pretty interesting topic. I know my opinion on this has evolved over the past few years. I used to be against it, but I really don't know why. I guess because the...
