Mini lever lock build

I needed to heat the blade to "fit" the back of the blade with the sear. I was able to get a good fit, now what's the best method to re harden the steel?

Thanks for any input.

What are the tells for the Rizzo variations ? Authentic , Japanese , or china made?
And what can one expect to spend on them?

Re: leverletto, Bill?

Thanks Bill.
Do you find that issue with the kits often? Also if I removed material from one liner, would you do the same on the other liner to make it match? Or would youre eye not pick that up?
Thanks again it has been fun.

Re: leverletto, Bill?

Some things I learned. A drill press is a must have item to make knives, I ruined the pearl scales! Polish all parts before final assembly it will help in the end. When fitting scales just go slow, you can sand off too much very quickly. African black wood is very hard wood Don't leave your polishin...

Re: leverletto, Bill?

An update on my progress. Trashed the white pearl scales, fouled them up drilling the holes on the spring side, not much room for error there! I had some African black wood, which look pretty good. There is however still that darn bend in the liner that is not looking good! I don't have it pinned ti...

Re: leverletto, Bill?

Bill, Ok Im using composite white pearl scales, I dont see quite how I would be able to peen the back spring pin through the liners only, how do I then get the scales on? i know you have the trick! Thanks so much for your help. It is super neat to have someone like yourself giving advice to a novice...

leverletto, Bill?

Bill are you around? I am putting together a leverletto and have a couple of questions. My liner with the sear spring, is bent. I looks like it had become bent when the factory put the spring on, perhaps too much hammer? Whats the best way to straighten that liner out? My next question, the pin that...

Leverletto attempt

Any must know tips or tricks on a leverletto build? I purchased a kit and I am about to get started putting it together.
I really like the pearl look on them so that's what I went with.
Thanks for any suggestions, all are welcome!

Re: Nemo knives

Thanks for the kind words! I am waiting for another mikov a leverletto and a mini lever lock kit. I figure if I get those 3 done with the tools I have, and still like working on knives, I could justify purchasing more equipment. That mikov in the photo is my first attemp, and needed a bit of assista...

Re: Leverletto questions

Thanks Bill I will just have to deal with the spring exposed. I see what you mean about the scale getting too thin.
Thanks for your input.
