Ever seen a deer swim??

Just thought Id' ask after your latest fishing trip. :) I tried like hell to get a picture of it on my phone, but could not. 2 weeks ago, my buddy and I were on lake lanier looking for an island to beach on. It was around noon when we went around one particular island in search of sand. We were turn...

The other 54% were assorted drooling fools, illegal aliens, dead people, convicted felons, braindead "60s throwbacks, and MAYBE one or two well meaning, drugged out idealists I don't know about this one. This time around, I saw rational people vote for "hope and change" and "first black president" ...

Re: An UNEXPECTED first !!!!!!!!!

What bait were you using? I would think there must be a lake/pond somewhere close by? I've heard of retarded animals before, to the tune of a HUGE 16 point buck standing in the middle of a road just waiting to be shot, which he eventually was... :o

Re: AK-47 U.S. equivalent?

do NOT reccomend the pratice as it is rough on the gun but, the model 12 [at least most I've seen] can be "fast fired" by holding the trigger back and "pumping" the slide
The Ithica I mentioned will do this too. It'll slap you around like a pissed off old lady if your not careful! 8)

Re: LEGEND DIES

....some of those guitars go for $175,000....WOW Wow! I knew they were pretty valuable back 2 decades ago, but I never would have thought we were playing with a multi, MULTI kilo-buck instrument. 'Till now, I had thought the most expensive one I'd ever played was a black one that had a solid abalon...

I know this is getting out there, and I'm sorry, but Mr. hogwild? That scatter gun on the bottom reminds me of a Viet Nam era Ithica 12ga I saw recently...

'56; It must be worth a fortune!
I must say, it was a Goldtop, not a sunburst. The Epiphone was sunburst. Man, it's been awhile. I have no idea what a Goldtop would go for nowadays...

Re: AK-47 U.S. equivalent?

xlr8, You wrote: "my cheapo Henry lever action to be the "Fisher Price toy gun" Quite a slur against a decent inexpensive .22 in my opinion, I actually like them and am planning to add one as soon as my local gunshop gets it in. .22's are my favorite guns. Re: LEGEND DIES

I think the Epiphone versions pay pretty good omage to the original Gibson Les Paul. We did a side-by-side comparison years ago and found the Epiphone to be a bit lighter and had a slightly different sound. If I remember correctly, the biggest difference in sound was through the 3-way switch. We did...

Re: AK-47 U.S. equivalent?

Since the election ALL ammo is scarce, even 22 LONG RIFLE WOW! I never would have worried about .22. I've always considered my cheapo Henry lever action to be the "Fisher Price toy gun" of the firearms world. I shoot crows and varmits with CB Shorts in the backyard with it. My brother...

Re: AK-47 U.S. equivalent?

Final note: I want to ultimately have something that fires 7.62x51,.556 and the 7.62x39 that way if things go well there will most likely be some spare ammo laying around. That was my thinking exactly when I first considered purchasing an SKS. I'm still on the fence in regard to the availability of...
