Re: Rostfrei import swedge blade
Thanks Bill it means a lot from you. ,it came with a hubertus?marked RUSCHE, SOLINGEN ROSTFREI was going to ask you about it ,its sprung and blade mangled but i like it somehow, picklock blade 12 cm. I see the real complexity of Italian construction ,its like many italian things stylish,to the rugged...

Re: Rostfrei import swedge blade
The D shape cutout is there Don, bolsters look soldered, it just feels a nice little solid knife, but I can't comment on that as it's my first.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Rostfrei import swedge blade
It is a swivel bolster big slim I'm on a stupid phone which won't allow me to attach files, I'll try and post better pictures, thanks for the info and age of the knife.... It has made me think how nice the push button knives are, the scales are lovely up close, nicely finished. Wish I had a makers n...

Rostfrei import swedge blade
Rostfrei import knife I'd love to know more about, age maker. Is it Italian. It's my first push button and I'm impressed with the building quality, but that's me, I'm new and haven't handled any push buttons since the early 80s. It's marked 1,on obverse, and has a red dot marked tiny safety slot, I d...

Re: Backsspring and blade
Is this staking process done while the spring is still in place? Or is it better to bend by hand, I suppose the staking process let's you know it's worked, but can this put pressure on the spring rivet pin. Complicated these knives, I can begin to really appreciate their build, thanks Bill,I mean th...

Re: Backsspring and blade
Any tips on where to bend front, middle or rear, whats best to use Bill, hammer and vice,I've never bent a spring in my life and don't want to snap it,or make it worse.
Can I secure the kickspring in any fashion to prevent slipping again.
Thanks Bill.

Re: Backsspring and blade
Sorry for not getting back Bill, how do you bend a spring? Is heat needed, or can it be done by pressure or hammer, I know that you are right, the kickspring had unseated, didn't realise it. What's the best way of knowing it's correctly and fully inserted? How also do you know the spring has full ten...

Re: Backsspring and blade
It seems strong Bill, it snaps the lever back forcefully on closing, the blade pin is filed flush at present. Can this cause movement, I'm replacing it on Wednesday, I'll have to look, the mainspring has to seat flush with the liners doesn't it? This movement only occurred when filing the blade pin f...

Re: Backsspring and blade
Sorry Bill rushing as usual.... It's on a hubie, it's as if the blade steel and spring steel need leveling to meet flush,, and allow the backspring to drop into place, bit scared of removing steel from the wrong one but slight thumb pressure on the spring locks it up better, will light removal of ste...

Backsspring and blade
If the blade rocks on the backspring when on open Bill, but tightens when backspring is held with thumb, does the blade or backspring need altering? There is about 1mm of backspring not flush with the liners, it's raised. I know you will have covered this and apologies in advance, just want to be su...

Re: wm rodgers fairbairn sykes
Peter this looks like a private purchase officers blade, many were privately bought by officers in ww2,does it have any age or is it brand new? I read some were purposely left bright to strike fear into opponents and gain a psychological edge, these daggers were deadly in the right hands but the knurl...
