Fish filetting knives for the most part tend to have tapered blades (becoming gradually thinner towards the point), while the blade thickness on the Flex knives stays the same almost up to the point, which makes them a bit stiffer. Each blade is just under a millimeter thick, and also quite flexible for such a relatively hard & wear resistant steel.

The factory edge on this knife was a bit blunt, due to one of the black plastic inserts in the sheath, which is made from some form of glass filled nylon.
