Just my opinion...but, if it were mine, I'd consider restoring it with new scales, tighten the blade if it doesn't lock up as it should and a cleaning.

After reading my own reply I realized it was cofusing. I was comparing my "oval" button to a "lever lock",mine just needed to be pressed sharply to open.
