F P, Welcome to the forum. The issue is whether we are referring to production stilettos or custom stilettos. I suspect that some of the responses assumed a production stiletto perspective. The backspring on my 9 inch swing measured 0.135 in. and measurements from some of my modern 9 inch Italian stilettos yielded 0.115 inch values, rendering the swing's spring about 17% thicker.
