Resouce Material

Can anyone provide info concerning "The Automatic Knife Association" and its newsletter?

How about "The Auto Knife Collector" online magazine?

Are they worth a subscription?

I forgot the blackjack part, but that's how they took care of the money van drivers, wasn't it. The knife was used later on when the gang was going through the process of drawing straws to determine who was going to eliminate the old lady. Lom used it to cut one match shorter than the others, and he...

I just got a terrific 15" kris with dark horn scales from The Master. He really does have it together; it was one of the smoothest transactions ever. He responded to questions, delivered fast and the goods were definitely as represented.

On page 94 of my current bed-side reading material, "Switchblades of Italy", there is a picture of this very type of knife. It is identified as an "old fashioned style made in the 1960's". On page 96 is another button open / button close that has more rounded lines and is a lockback. Doesn't say whe...

The announcement from Teddy says in part "...the entire thread 'Huge leap or Mistake' has been deleted. Mr. Arthas has made it clear that the price increases are not a mistake." I would appear that there are those who do not understand that there are mistakes and then there are mistakes. Most who po...

According to the book "Switchblades of Italy", kris blades, insofar as auto knives are concerned, were developed by Latama, and they applied for an Italian patent in 1950. Presumably they began selling them around that time. The origin of the kris style is to be found in traditional Southeast Asian ...

I was wondering what to use to bring back the sparkle, especially for those pieces with brass bolsters. This stuff is great! :!:

Thank you all for the information, advice and pointers. Keep it coming.

One thing still puzzles me about tequiza's post, what is he doing chasing after Field Goals? It isn't even football season.

For those who don't have a problem with a glass topped display case that can be wall mounted, try this link. Price and quality were best I found at that time (6 mos), but times do change. Got the 3" deep one to handle the larger knives and also got double foam so they would stay put when the unit wa...

The Lady Killers, the 1955 version from Ealing Studios starring Alec Guiness as the "professor"), Peter Sellers (he played a Teddy Boy with a 1911 Colt .45) and Herbert Lom who had a 11" kris with black scales. Very funny movie.

I bought my first switchblade, a 9 inch picklock, in Italy as a kid in the late 50's. I lost interest when it was stolen 10 years later, probably because these things were no longer available in the US. Over the past year, my interest has been rekindled. A while ago I obtained a 15" Campolin bayonet...
