Just open the blade half way or so and hopefully find a very thin file that will not rub against the bolsters.

Some look like they tilt slightly to the left when open like the one in the pic below.

Re: Straight Razor

I've had more than one mos' unpleasant experience whilst shaving with one of those olde, double edge "safety razors" [/i] after having sucked-up a few MB's. I found them to be not all that 'safeness'. [/b] My first time out was bloody hell with a safety razor. The blade on most comes out of the raz...

Re: Straight Razor

I switched from multiblade cartridges to disposables for cost then onto safety razors. My regular is a Schick Krona w/ Gillette Platinum Plus blades. Re: PRESTO!

OP, what a great collection! I truly led a sheltered life. Not until recently did I realize what a vast range of knives like this there were.

(I am awaiting the arrival of my first vintage American, an Edgemaster fishtail similar in appearance to the 6th from the left in your pic.)

Re: Satellite View and Map of Maniago cutlery places

I traveled to the Marche region of Italy many times on business. The cluster aspect of Italian industry is typical there too. In Marche it is music & audio electronics (keyboards, speakers, amplifiers, etc.) and all the small industries around support that. People start at one company, learn the bus...

Intro, better late than never, how did I miss all this?

Just wanted to say hello. I am a longtime knife collector but have recently gotten more interested in repairs & modifications. Truly amazed and happily surprised at the great forums that detail this kind of thing. Despite having a good part of the gear I need to do it, I never picked up the gauntlet...
