Re: Question on Pin Spinners

I doubt that dome dimensions matter much, as long as there is a good head after spinning. The Schrade style tool cuts the handle material around the pin. That makes sense. I noticed that some Schrade knives have a flat "rim" on the pin so that must be why. Spinning is used on production knives and ...

Re: Bargeon 860

The small models use a slot like the Leverletto. The larger Bargeons use a lockback mechanism. You have to be very careful fitting the lockback models, as you have very little fitting leeway. Thank you, that gives me some confidence towards my first attempted repair. I will start a new thread when ...

Re: a funny thing happened at a flea

Why are the ignorant always adamant about spreading bull**** around for the rest of us to step in? Let me comment from the lofty perch of advanced age..... Arguing with the ignorant is like arguing with your dog. He won't understand you and you'll both end up annoyed. I've found flea market sellers...

Re: Let's make a leverletto

One question on these, is there any reason that the scale has to be fully cut through over the spring? Does the spring rise so for up when operated that it would not work if the scale wasn't cut through? NO & NO... I have several with the spring fully enclosed... Thanks JerrBear! So more a matter o...

Re: Is SKM taking orders

Old thread resurrection - In Italy, the whole country more or less shuts down in August as that is when FIAT closes to re-tool their plants for the fall models. So many companies do business with FIAT in one way or another it just makes sense for them to shut down too. In turn, other companies that ...

Question on Pin Spinners

I picked up some drill rod and am going to have a go at making my own spinner set but have several related questions - (1) What are the typical dome dimensions of the spinner? Does the dome diameter matter? Do you just make it an arbitrary size like 1/8" or 1/16" and only spin the head until you rea...

Re: Just finished up with the Spyderco Tenacious G10

I found a Spyderco Seki City (G-2 Delica I think) at the local flea market for a buck.

Sharpened it up and gave it to my son. Now I want one too, they are very handy knives.

Re: Spring Turkey Hunt

Where I live they are so used to people a "hunt" would entail walking up to one and ringing its neck while its friends watch.

Then you could go ring one of theirs too. They literally stand out in the street and don't move when you drive by them.

Re: Let's make a leverletto

I am placing an order for an LK1 kit today, this thread is very helpful.

One question on these, is there any reason that the scale has to be fully cut through over the spring?

Does the spring rise so for up when operated that it would not work if the scale wasn't cut through?

Re: Molletta

.....but i love these cheesey knives.....and i just love the plastic checker scales I hear that, to me, that is their charm. I like the "disposable" Japanese knives from the 60's & 70's for the same reason. Cheese ain't necessarily a bad thing IMO and I would love to add a Molletta to my own collec...

Re: Intro, better late than never, how did I miss all this?

Mos' interesting and nice collection... Thank you! From the bottom left, the OTF (AKC?) was given to me by a now passed friend in the 80's. He bought it in Turin Italy and it returned to the US in a packed set of socks. The Rizzuto swing-guard replaced one stolen by an ex-friend, I think I got it i...

Thanks all. It was the posts on how to fix & tweak that drew me in.

Re: Bargeon 860

What detail is in the tang to lock the blade in place when open? Is it another square hole or slot like the Leverletto has?
