Re: Roofing Tales Of Madness

Back in the days of my yute, AS an employee, I would go and do what the owner of the company directed, I am sure you've lived the same. Out of all the acres of squares I've stapled on, very, very few blew off, and this one was the epitome. Whence the coil nail gun was invented, we still did overlay...

Re: Roofing Tales Of Madness

Shingle roofing overlays are a common practice nation wide, and product manufacturers have traditionally warranteed the 1st layer of overlay. Most structures can bear the weight of additional roofing, AS the load is distributed by the framing to eaves and walls, not a dead weight directly forcing d...

Re: Roofing Tales Of Madness

Serious roofing question: some time ago at a social event I heard contractor state that the practice you described of placing a new asphalt roof on top of the old one is a bad one. The reasons being that in addition to adding significant weight to the roof, the old shingles can curl as they further...

Re: Girl Scout Thin Mints - hard narcotics disguised as cookies

Mine reference was indeed to the Eiger Mountain, a term cast by roofers when shingling a dangerously steep roof, trying to avoid self sanctioning. I have also roofed buildings designed by that Eichler fellow, and found them to be poorly designed for roof efficiency. Mr. Corpse, I have done a few re...

Re: Down for a while

Thank you all. I had the other side done via conventional surgery 30 years ago. I was miserable for 5 weeks. Talked to a guitarist friend who had the same experience, but later had laparoscopic hernia surgery. He said he never took a pain pill and went home from the hospital and washed his car! Mr....

Re: Girl Scout Thin Mints - hard narcotics disguised as cookies

My grand niece is a Girl Scout in Maryland. She takes her cookie sales seriously and my wife orders a bunch and has them shipped. Included in the package are Thin Mints. I try to eat ONE Thin Mint and it doesn't come even close to ending up that way. Anyone else have this problem? Jim Mr. Jim D, Ha...

Re: KAMELTOE CHALLENGE! WIN A RIZZY CLONE! WOW!

Portland mike and natcheley are out. I'm on the clock. Come on man, get it done Joe. Mr. Whippersnapper, It appears the dims are willfully letting creepy Joe stumble his way into article 25. The more disasters the better for Kameltoe. The one bill that old sleezy Joe is insisting, the $15 min wage,...

Re: Closing a picklock one handed...

How difficult is it to close a picklock one-handed? Have seen a Campolin Picklock i love the look of, but knives that have to be closed two handed bug me. It seems like a strange question to ask, i know. But since i have never owned a picklock, i do have to ask. (Thanks :)) Mr. Monstro, The Italian...

Shoveling snow can be hazardous!

Ladies, Fish, and Gentlemen, I was sent an unedited video of this incident last night, and I thought, what a pathetic waste of human life, over basically nothing. The couple(now dead) started this incident with the shooter (now dead), but certainly didn't deserve the end result. It goes to show if y...

Re: Ammo blues...

Cottontails. I have to go about an hour north to get into any Snowshoe hares. Mr. Whippersnapper, Not much to the cottontails out here, and nobody eats jack rabbit. The gray squirrels however make a tasty stew, and make an easier target. Just saw Federal .22LR Black Pack on gunbroker at a decent pr...

I didn't plan on it but ended up shooting about a hundred rounds(not at the rabbits). Just so fun to plink with I couldn't resist.
Mr. Whippersnapper,

It’s soothing to the soul. Cottontails or hares?

Best regards,

Re: Ammo blues...

I am however, more selective and deliberate at what I'm shooting at, even with .22LR. Even .22 rimfire is going for .20-30 cents a round right now... I planned on shooting a new pistol a bunch this winter but not anymore. Mr. Whippersnapper, I just fired my new S&W Liberty a few weeks ago after loo...

Re: Ammo blues...

.30 is going in the neighborhood of a buck a round on Gunbroker. Those custom loads for my MAS are going to cost me about 3 bucks a round. Makes you think twice about having a casual afternoon at the range. Too damned cold to go to the rod and gun here these daze to shoot the 9 which we have plenty...
