Re: Interesting Box..!

Does the first one on the left have "U.S.A" under the "Bali-song" stamp? If it does, it looks very similar to a Pacific Cutlery with a blade ground by Jody Samson, a well-known knife maker, and the guy who made Conan's sword for the movie "Conan the Barbarian". PC Bali-song's ground by Jody Samson g...

Re: Interesting Box..!

You're welcome Roy, my pleasure. I enjoy researching knives. :) I've been doing some research of my own, and here's what I've got so far- The third one from the left is a Pacific Cutlery model 68. The 68 is almost identical to the model 10, but the telltale difference is the pivot pins. On the model...

Re: Interesting Box..!

The first three could be early Pacific Cutlery knives. Pacific later became Benchmade. Pacific Cutlery branded their knives "Bali-Song" and used a butterfly as their logo, as did Benchmade later on. Old Pacific Cutlery butterfly knives are often sought after by collectors, and can be worth several h...

Re: CHRONOLOGICAL LIST of switchblades in movies

There are SO MANY movies and tv shows with switchblades in them that we could only ever just scratch the surface. But I'll mention one because it's also one of my favorite movies- "Abandon Ship" 1957. Based on a true story (truly)- A luxury passenger ship sinks in the Atlantic ocean. A small group o...

Re: Anyone know anything about this site?

For what it's worth, here is my personal "Good and Bad" list. I have purchased from all of these vendors. GOOD perryknifeworks.com leescutlery.com myswitchblade.com I placed an order for two knives from myswitchblade.com once, and a day later I received an email telling me that they pulled one knife...

Re: Anyone know anything about this site?

It's a total scam site. There are many like it that also use pictures taken from BladeHQ. The first one I saw was supposedly an AGA Campolin site, selling every AGA Campolin knife that BladeHQ ever sold, and at a fraction of the original retail price. I've also seen them for several other brands inc...

Muhammad Afaaq is Pakistani. There are people on this forum who have purchased knives from him. If you do a search for "M Afaaq" you'll find them.

Re: Help I.D. this swing guard?

For whatever it's worth, member Jackalope posted pics a few years back of a 9" swing guard with an identical tang mark ("STAINLESS" at a slight slant over "ITALY"), but it also has the Armando Beltrame "AB" over "ITALY" mark on the reverse side. Re: Frenchi94 switchblade collection

Thank you Killgar for sharing these pages of the book it is very interesting :D No problem Frenchi. Kinda like deja vu from the other forum. I don't posses the book, but I was lucky enough to find a picture of one open to those pages online. Doing a closeup on that original picture in my com...

Re: Frenchi94 switchblade collection

Beautiful knives, especially the Maltese one from the 20's.. Wondering why it has a strange round tip. In the switchblade book "Coletello a Scatto Antico Italiano Switchblade", which Frenchi shows a portion of the cover in his opening post, there is a two-bladed knife on the cover with a nub on the...

Re: Interesting Box..!

Hmmm, Killgar, I figured maybe that keystone shape was a go-button. The ivory one beneath it looks to be the same make, don't you think? Pics of a Schatt & Morgan 03191L below (they were manufactured by Queen Cutlery for S&M). That thing on the handle is just a decorative "shield". Although Schatt ...

Re: Interesting Box..!

The stag handle swing guard near the lower lefthand corner appears to be a Schatt & Morgan manual swing guard model V-03191L (red arrow).

Looks like a couple of Mikov Predators too. One with a saw.

Re: Interesting Box..!

Looks like a 13" AGA Campolin batwing swing guard (stag handles, flat button). I would definitely say that one is valuable. Of course condition and function matters. And one looks like a Frank Beltrame 11" swivel bolster with abalone handles. Those sell new for around $240. I see where last year a p...

Thanks. At the time I bought it I didn't know how rare they were (only one year/production run I believe, 2009). I'm glad I didn't "chop" it up. Aside from being an unusual switchblade, it's makes a nice conversation piece.
