Re: OUTRAGEOUS !!!

The November election is absolutely crucial in terms of protecting our 2nd Amendment Right to bear arms. While Obama was still an Illinois politician, he said that someone defending themselves with a firearm should be prosecuted whether it was justified or not! If re-elected there is no longer any r...

Re: Forum Knife

I knew going into this that with some things "you takes your chances" so you won't here me expressing frustration towards any persons. Last summer my customized damascus swinguard from FB ended up in the dead letter section. What made it most frustrating was receiving a letter from USPS last month c...

Gift (bribe)

My youngest sister's husband has done very well for himself. My sister has been very gracious about letting my wife and I visit their summer home on the coast of Maine. Last summer after letting me drive her new Porsche 911 (which required extreme intestinal fortitude on her part), she confided in m...

Re: prototypes

Frank Beltrame makes the 9" & 11" knives for Walt. Yes, they are good knives. Walt specified the 5mm blades in his contract with Frank along with exclusivity on the design. Apparently the exclusivity period is now over so Frank can sell 5mm knives under his logo.

Re: DUE BUOI Error

Those offers are an insult! Why don't you just send me the knife and I'll run over to Maniago and ask Vittorio Centa about the knife in person.

Re: LLO Kits/Mikov Kits

I ordered 30 regular LLO kits from Angelo at the Blade Show last year which he sent me early in the fall. I have not seen the kits for the large LLO around for a long time. I am sure Angelo would put some together but I don't know what kind of minimum quantity he would want.

Re: Fox Switchblades

It was my understanding that Fox does not make autos under it's name but has manufactured some specialty autos for other makers.

Re: Nut and Bolt Assembly

Basically the Italians are using styles that have been passed down for generations. Sure, they have added some automated shortcuts to the process but to a great extent they are still essentially handmade. It is the styling and variability of being handmade that make them collectible and desirable si...

Re: Mikov Review

Aw geez, all this talk about Mikov's has given me the urge to put together a couple of kits! Let's see, I've got amber jigged horn, red horn, blue-green dyed bone, Australian banksia pod and all kinds of wood scale material. Shoot, and here I was all happy hibernating!

Re: Mikov Review

The lever pin that releases the blade is the same one that locks the blade open so if you don't release it there is no pin to catch the blade if you don't take the pressure off the lever.

Re: Newbie here. !!!

Welcome! Frank Beltrame is one of my favorite makers since I had a great visit to his shop in Italy. He also makes the 9" and 11" knives for Walt. His better knives are his Classic line, Swinguards, and Picklocks. These are usually in the $100-$200 range or higher for special editions. His Switch li...

Re: Mikov Review

Are you releasing the lever completely when you open the knife? Sometimes on a leverlock a little pressure on the lever will keep it from locking up completely. I once received a kit from David with a slight bow to the blade and he replaced it quickly.

Re: Forum Knife

Hey Java, what channel is that on? Is that a "doctored-up" SIG 556? Ha haa,I can just see the wife walking by and seeing this and rolling her eyes. It's the Self-Defense channel. That's a Ruger SR-556. If my wife saw that I'd probably catch one upside the head! Luckily she was out of town yest...
