Re: I just ordered a United Defense Adjustable Self Defense Cane...

Look up BudK and the cane. I think that you might just change your mind. I haven't turned into a doddering old man yet. Mexican Customs has a lot more to worry about than a man with a cane. US Customs doesn't.

I just ordered a United Defense Adjustable Self Defense Cane...

BudK in Georgia sells them for $39.99 shipped to your door. This is an injection-molded polymer cane and the end needs to be cut off with a hacksaw to adjust it's length. You then screw the cane tip on the 7/8" shaft. The nice part about owning this unit is that it isn't considered a weapon and can ...

The "Night Watchman" sword cane.

Is an excellent example of the swordmaker's art. It is made from 1080 steel (SK5) and looks as if it will hold together better than Cold Steel's offering. It should be well worth the $89.99 + shipping. As I said in the other thread, sailing along "beneath the radar" is a great feeling.

Re: Gerber Guardian

I can whip it out of it's sheath at a moment's notice. After a bit of adjustment, it conceals naturally. (Judas Preist, I'd hate to be on the "receiving end" of this puppy)!

It is perfect for my needs. :D

Re: Cold Steel Sword Cane?

I have changed my mind and am looking at buying The Night Watchman. It has a 25" SK5 steel (1080 Carbon Steel) it is $89.99 + shipping instead of $94.00 + shipping for the Cold Steel unit. (It gets better reviews than the Cold Steel product).

Re: Cold Steel Sword Cane?

This is one lethal piece of kit FP. I just saw a funny video where its put to use and its really sharp and deadly. Puts my wilkinson sword one to shame. This would be a fine street weapon as its concealed and 2 weapons in one if needed . Heres a picture i found for you. Theres another with black ha...

I just ordered a Cold Steel Super Edge Mini Pal.

It was on e-bay from gooddealonline2016. I ordered it (postpaid) from China for $8.98. Look them up and scoop up one while they're still available at this great price.

Re: Cold Steel Sword Cane?

Thanks Ian:

This is why I'm considering buying one next month. I can saunter past the Mexican customs agents at the Garita Chaparral (Tijuana) without so much as batting an eyelash. It makes traveling armed so much easier. I prefer to "fly under the radar" if at all possible.

Cold Steel Sword Cane?

I've been looking at one of these for travel. $95.00 + shipping from Budk could make it worth a self-defense weapon for discreet travel "south of the border".

Insights?

You have heard the phrase "everything old is new again" right?

On Amazon I found, and bought, an old military-type web belt, (black with white metal hardware). It is an easy fit (out to a 52 inch waist size) and worth every penny. These are great belts that not only hold up your pants, but are adjustable so that you can hang a sheath on it without having any of...

Re: Gerber Guardian

Sammy, Tryker and Ian: The more I handle and hone this knife, the better I like it. This is a true "bad boy" and is suitable for lots of uses. This knife is more than remarkable, It is stupendous. If you need a "real" boot knife, buy this one. The real beauty of this blade is that it is NOT a "one t...

The SWHRT9B arrived today.

This "Boot Knife" is more of a belt knife, but is quite well balanced when it comes to size and function (as much as a dagger-style blade can be). The 7Cr17 "High Carbon" steel blade is pliable/flexible enough to be tough yet hold an edge well enough to perform routine cutting chores. I can hear you...

Re: Gerber Guardian

The Guardian just came in today's mail. This is the knife I have been wanting all along. Small(er), discreet and razor sharp. Gerber's 420HC steel is "just like momma used to make" and will serve in a fine number of roles other than personal defense. So many good things are made in "the Solingen of ...

Re: Cars?

The Wrens, WAVES, WAC and WM, are all great. During WW2 the WM's were called the BAM's (Broad @$$ed Marines). It was in giant, bold typeface as a headline in the New York Times! (Trust me, it was a sign of respect back in the day).

Re: Any suggestions for a "perfect" boot knife...

I just ordered the Secret Edge by Cold Steel (I found it on "flea-bay" for $10.99 including shipping). Having it "drop-shipped" from China makes a great deal of sense. This is so light that I can use an "Ace" bandage to hold it on my forearm if desired. When it comes to a knife such as this, the lig...
