Re: remaining HUBERTUS

FYI all - these are nice models and are priced right. I already have examples or I would be purchasing.

Re: For the leverlock geeks

button_man - here is a Type II bolster. Note the absence of lines at the top of the bolster as opposed to those in Type I and Type III. There are also some dimensional differences but my calipers have been mia for years. There is a shape difference as well. Type II knives are cited as being made by ...

Re: Flatguard

Panzerfaust - I consider a vintage flatguard to be a fantastic gun show find. Yours looks quite nice. N.C. Dude - don't fret about it. You might have missed something worthwhile, but I have never bought a knife at a gun and knife show. Once I almost bought a bo/bc stiletto, and that is the closest I...

Wow - a very desirable not often seen old picklock that is also in outstanding condition, that's what I call a great addition to the collection.

For the leverlock geeks

Vintage German leverlocks were often contract knives with many tang stamps originating from a few manufacturers. Here is what appears to be two identically stamped examples originating from different manufacturers. The two 11 cm knives in the photo have visually identical front stamps as shown (rear...

Re: Kershaw launch 8

I have one as well Sammy, the only modern style knife I have purchased in over a decade, not counting replacing the Swiss Army knife that TSA took (but that's another story). I like it a lot, powerful coil spring, razor sharp, and reasonably attractive IMO. Mine is the blue model with bead blasted b...

Re: SOLD Anton Wingen Jr. Othello

Received the knife and had a nice (electronic) conversation with the seller - a good guy. It is an honest old German leverlock in unused unsharpened condition. It has the patina and grime from being stored for a long time, which is fine. Tight lockup, blade sits centered and deep, all the good stuff...

Re: 11-inch picklocks

For some of us, it is nostalgia. Despite years of yearning, I could never obtain a real switchblade until I did my fateful internet search for "switchblade" What I could and did obtain are false button stilettos. That is the appeal for me. I think it is analogous to the appeal of Rizzutos. They were...
