Re: Manual mauro mario picklock converted to auto
That's pretty cool. Square button conversions can be hard to do. I have been doing it to the AGA manual swingers. The more recently made ones have the longer tangs that is necessary for a square button knife. Stagnut made several of them with a few different models.

Re: Question on 50's Fish Picklocks
When I saw that Made in Italy stamp, which I don't think I have seen before on a vintage Fish, I briefly thought it might be a newer blade on an older handle but the aging on the backspring and blade are clearly the same.

Re: Question on 50's Fish Picklocks
I am pretty sure that is an older one (50s or 60s). They newer ones don't have the flat ends on the bolsters (see how the bottom of the top and top of the bottom bolster are curved one the light horn one). Also, that looks like legitimate aging on the backspring. The few vintage Fish I have seen wer...

Here is a regular slip-in spring on the left and a dovetail on the right. Notice the separating line for the dovetail is much lower. You can also see a fltaguard next to a stamped bolster.

Re: "Coricama Inoxid" for sale on internet
By the way, that is a beautiful example that you shared. Is that a pic of one of your knives? You mean the liners? Lol, that is just the liners from a Rizzuto I had sitting in my parts box. I just posted that so you could see the D-stamps. As for the guards, those are the later stamped one-piece bo...

Re: Over oiling a knife
If it was opening fine but now not opening fully the issue is something other than too much or little oil. Oil can absorb dirt and dust and turn to a paste like stuff but that takes a long time.
What kind of knife is it?

Nice!!
One thing, though: I would recommend turning the comments back on. I have noticed that a lot of people got in to auto collecting after seeing videos of them on Youtube.

Re: "Coricama Inoxid" for sale on internet
The brass pivot is original and a sign it is most likely older than most vintage picklocks. I have a similar knife with the full sear hole and plated button/safety. I believe mine is a Raimondo without the Raimondo stamp. But yours has an Inoxid stamp like a Coricama would have had. Though, I can't ...

Re: "Coricama Inoxid" for sale on internet
That is a real cool one but it looks like the blade was either hand sanded before polishing or laid flat on the sander which messed up the middle line at the top. Unfortunately, those lines can be hard to reclaim once that happens. Definitely a Bill level job (not me, I mean) if anyone wanted that d...

Re: Milano definition
Those are really cool knives. Not being able to get one was what made me first want to make a knife. The location of the sear hole and the pin for the lock were my first clue they were not designed by the Italians. As for the word "Milano", I think they wanted something that seemed Italianish but di...

I've seen a few Frosolones with real tall buttons like that.

That is a crazy optical illusion. All three of the knives in the preceding picture are the exact same size.

That Snappy in the first pic is miniature of the Shur Shap. I think the Snappy is around 4" OAL.
