Re: More love for cheap switchblades

The couple FB 2.0 knives that I have are pretty well fitted, at least compared to their previous generation. But in a whole, from an aesthetic point of view, I go back to what I said about musical instruments...I own 5 or 6 Fender Strats, a mix of US and Mexico builds, but only consider one of them ...

Re: More love for cheap switchblades

It's interesting for sure. I'd like to think it only can only be classified as "higher quality" over say a Frank B because it's mass-produced and most, if not all, by machines and not people. And that the real Italians have a more hands-on approach in their creation. That used to be true, it seems. ...

Re: Newbie Question - Italian Stilettos

Yes, excellent work indeed, Killgar. I'm not a Ti-Lite guy, I think I have a knockoff here somewhere, but the 3 you have built would certainly change my interests if I could find such a conversion. Honestly, there hasn't been a knife you've done yet that I wouldn't immediately snap up if available!...

Re: Pascotto 10' Frosolone

Looks nice, I have two Renzo Frosolones in NS and an AGA in brass. They are well built, to say the least. If it was me, I'd keep it because they ain't making any more and I just watched the last one drop off 3K a week or two back. I almost bought it myself, it was the same as you have. Renzo 10 in b...

Re: AGA Campolin 2017 picklock

Yeah, healthcare has become more about profit and bureaucracy than true care. My father was a hospital pharmacist for 30 years in Fairfax County, Virginia and somewhere in the 80s the "administrators" showed up and started to out-number the actual practitioners. Within a decade the hospital quadrupl...

Re: Found Inox 40 years ago...any info appreciated

Looks like a knife with a lot of tales to tell...great find, and also smart to keep it instead of trading it for a handful of baseball cards or the like! I never found a knife or anything notable as a kid. Even when I was looking. :) But I too remember the days before the internet as a youth...lots ...

Re: High School Graduaiton Present - Help Needed

I would go with MySwitchBlade and buy the 9 inch black ebonywood Frank B 2.0 he sells for 130. I know it's a bit high budget-wise but these newer models have thicker spines and are well made too. I bought one of the black acrylics Chuck had when they dropped but I want to keep it otherwise I'd sell ...

Re: AGA Campolin 2017 picklock

I'm wondering whether small differences in the 10" knives -- 5 or 6 grams -- might be explained mostly by differences in the scales? The other components should be pretty equal from one knife to the next; but horn can vary somewhat in density. (Nice B+W horn on this one!) Apologies brother, I fell ...

When you find the 10" RP, please come back to this thread and add the new info! Thanks again...! :D Hey brother, mission accomplished. I finally found my 10 inch Renzo Frosolone buried in my still as yet organized "junk box." That's the code I use when explaining to the wife what's in there! ;) Thi...

Re: Six knives from the back woods

Button_Man, those are some nice picks you made. I think your logic on keepers is sound as well. And never worry about the cost of the gas as there is great entertainment in the road trip alone! :) You could've come back empty-handed but you still got great value in just the act of "getting out among...
