i have a tuto on makin the denim micarta somewhere.and i've seen a beautifull fixed blade with it and has solid copper bolsters and pins. really nice

True, Starett makes special blades for that, but in that case you may have to "gear up"

i've never used a spiecal blade just the old worn out ones mounted backwards, and i;ve cut hardened material with this method, but not accurately.
