Re: Edge Company Bone Handle
PHOTO REFERENCES FOR KNIFE STYLES every company tends to name their own knives, and there is no "LAW" that says one type in the first designer's namesake, must be obeyed. Blade profiles have been un-spokenly agreed on, like drop-point, saber, sheepfoot, spey blade. . etc. The stockman has a clip-poi...

It's a KA-BAR Little Grizzly (Lil' Grizzly) pattern Handle. . . . Except the two blade on the "Kabar" era knife . . (notice name spelling) was called the "Folding Hunter". . .because the "Hunter" was a sheath knife. The Kabar 2 blade folding hunter used to cost about $26.00 back in 1975, add another...

Re: Remington Knives
Cool set ! . . . boxes and everything. I like the Stockman design. I have a tiny tiny modern (1980's) Kabar and an every day carry in the stockman design. There's a fairly old Remington Barlow Knife in my late Father's collection. nothing special, red jigged bone, so it's not that old. I have a Remi...

Re: Niacin, the real story
Although I eat B complex . . .
I don't think Niacin as a specific would be approved by my Doctor.
I remember TV ads about something being sold "with Niacin " back in the 1960's
but I forget the commercial.

I like the far left. . .classic lines. . .lanyard hole. . I drop things. . . don't want to drop it off the boat. The tanto point Kabar handle is really sexy . . . . I have a few Kabars and Kabar clones. I used a (several) cheap Japanese Fairbairn-Sykes commando knives. wrecked them poking campfires ...

Wrap emery cloth, or crocus cloth with cutting rouge around a proper size drill. hone only the back side . . .eventually you will hone away the serration points into "rounds" Then start again with a bigger drill size to get the points back. Spoken as a guy who drew knifes for All-Clad Cookware pots ...

I kind of know that it falls in place most of the way. . .and you don't need a hard surface. I play with an original guardfather spike. . that actually requires that. I have a trapdoor otf. . . with an aluminum fake blade . . .and soft copper electric wire for pins (I received a bent liner and blade...

I was just a criminal. . . concealed carry converted flick knives. Manual italian folders with the blade heel filed round so the blade swung freely. I just kept the pivot pin tapped to just the correct tightness, to allow an inertia flick. but then I discovered assisted openers, I have a favorite ye...

I drew this never having seen the inside of a Tarry Levigne OTF but I do have photos of a side cocker dis-assembled ( somewhere I can't find ) and I remember one straight arm and one sliight "S" shape second arm. but it sort of explains the operation of a floating sear arm. I PRESUME there is one in...

Re: These old things
I had the one on the far left . . it came in a leather sheath with a pocket, bought it at the Boy Scout headquarters in Pittsburgh in the 1960's ( Dad bought it for me, along with a shirt, belt neckerchief and cap, we wore jeans.) there was a second knife that was a 4 blade with bale. the handle sca...

Re: Over shooting
I have carried 11 inch stiletto's . . .mostly manual. and friends would play with them. and invariably try to "saw" open a box or some rope . . And the longer blade would be enough leverage to wreck the back spine spring. and even if you bent it, it was never the same and often looked "over-opened"....
