Not suitable for use, but certainly important to collectors-as specimens from the past.
I have two and pretty much agree with the above.

Re: Proud Hubie Question

The re seating of the blade seems to have helped SOME.

I'll use it till it gets worse and then break out the belt sander and do the little grinding thing.

Proud Hubie Question

I have a hubie that is maybe 8 or 9 years old. Well used. But lately I"ve noticed the blade has started to set a little proud where the tip is above the liners. It's not real high and of course that sort of blade is not that pointed so it's not catching in my pocket or anything. But I was wondering ...

Re: More info needed on Hubertus Safari Club

Interesting stag there Dave. The stag on my 98 custom is really gnarly.

Here's the actual Safari Club

Vagrant, I remember when those carbon ones were going around. Was always sorry I didn't pick one up.

Re: More info needed on Hubertus Safari Club

Hey Vagrant! How the hell is it going!

Zerdick

http://www.zerdick.com/index.htm.old.htm

Still shooting my .30 and got a .45LC with a .45ACP cylinder.

My favorite Hubie from Zerdick was a Hubie Forest Messer which was a pen blade fired one with spear point, little blade and saw.

Re: More info needed on Hubertus Safari Club

I have a hubertus Safari club but it is not like you describe. The Knive you describe I have and it says "Limited Edition Custom Made 1998 Soligen Germany" on the blade. The Safari club I have has an etch with the Hubertus Insignia in the middle then "custom made for" in sort of a banner and "Safari...

Re: Stiletto wear and tear

Mine have always broke right about in the middle.

Seems like the springs rust faster than any other part and despite spraying them with oil it seems like they get corroded and then they break.

That bill will never make it out of committee. Bobby Rush sponsored it it had NO co-sponsors and was referred to judiciary. Word is Pelosi had said she doesn't want to see any gun control make it to the floor for a vote. Harry Reid has won in Nevada by a very narrow margin and if it made it out of t...

Re: Fortune Sales price increase???

I got an 11" blue pearlex dagger bladed one from Stu a few years back for like 40 bucks off of BA. I gave it to somebody as a Christmas present this year, foolishly thinking I could get another for a similar price. Logged onto Stu's site and they were double that. Found them cheaper on another site ...

Re: Spring Question for Bill

Thanks Bill. I'll try the sideways punch thing. I just used a concave type punch with the knife in a vise and then laid the punch as close to paralell with the body of the blade as possible. I normally try to sock the oil to the spring but normally I'll go on a backpacking trip and use it for food p...

Spring Question for Bill

Hey Bill, I've read before where you said you thought a lot of the spring breakage in hubies is that the spring is not fully seated in the back. Short of taking the whole knife apart what is your suggestion for getting it back far as possible and keeping it there? In the past I'v just put the tip of...
