That's awesome, I was in Florence in 2000, it's a beautiful city! Unfortunately I didn't know much about switchblades back then. I might've bought one if I'd ever seen any for sale. None of the stalls/street vendors were selling any that I remember, minis or otherwise, but probably just didn't know ...

It's really hard to say what will happen to the future value of anything. If I were looking at things from an investment standpoint, I'd invest in land, oxygen, and water. Having said that, in the past 6 or so years since I started collecting knives I've only seen the value of switchblades go up. Es...

Hey everybody, thanks for all the responses and posts! button_man, yes the sear hole is drilled all the way through. Jeremy, the bottom bolster pin is not visible inside the handle.

I don't remember ever seeing a herbertz picklock either, also looks to have a stainless non-swedge blade. Looks a little more modern but is a picklock, kinda odd.

Here is one I just got. I don't have any of my switchblade books handy, but I'm guessing it's maybe from the late 40's.
