Re: Origin of the Kris switchblade
That Pascatto swing guard is a real beauty, I like it. The thing that really struck me about the Ibberson knife is that the blade profile is almost exactly the same as the 1950's Stilettos by Latama and other Italian makers. There are a lot of ways you could interpret a traditional Kris style blade,...

Origin of the Kris switchblade
For some reason I'm really drawn to kris switchblades, don't really know why. I really like the cultural mishmash of an Italian stiletto with a curvy Asian style blade. Somehow it looks right though. In the "Switchblades of Italy" book, Sam Polk of the Latama company seems to be credited with coming...

Re: German Naval Dagger
I only just now really looked at the scabbard and saw the arrow/lightning bolts, very cool detail. The Germans definitely won the style war...I really like the German knives but the Nazi era stuff has been pretty heavily reproduced and faked and I've always been a little wary of spending any real mo...

1950's Coricama Red Dot Stag Picklock
Here's one I picked up about 6 months ago, didn't really know what a "Coricama" was at the time (I've been collecting switchblades for about two years and only recently started learning about 1950's picklocks). Anyway, it seemed like a really good price for a vintage Italian so I bought it and as I'...

Re: Movie Switchblades
Wife dragged me to the theater yesterday, we saw this movie "The Nice Guys", it's watchable I guess but the highlight for me was this party fight scene where evil black dude whips out a switchblade, looked like a classic Italian stiletto, maybe 11" w/ bayo blade. Hard to tell, it was only shown for ...
Re: Rim Fire
I clicked on this one out of curiosity, great to see some pics and talk about the 39A. Great rifle, I've got an older one that was my dad's and it's a keeper for sure. Very accurate and fun for target shooting. Plus I really like the old west style of a lever action rifle.

Kris blade picklock stilettos
Kris blade picklocks are one of my favorite types of knives. Here are a few older ones from my collection that I've picked up in the past couple of years. The top one is a Latama, the manual in the middle just has a Made in Italy stamp and the bottom one is a Rosco. They're all in working condition,...

Re: Everyday carry knife
Here are my two main EDC's. The all black one is a Ken Onion Leek that I carry/use pretty much all the time. I keep it wicked sharp. The other one is a Taiwan Godfather copy that I carry a lot also. I've got a couple of other users but these are the main ones. I was carrying my kris blade Latama in ...
