Shaped the spring today to almost final size. Next I will heat treat it and the lockbar then make the rocker/ button.

Looks just how I planned.

I soldered the bolsters onto the liners today. I will grind the blade tomorrow. I decided on 416 for the bolsters.

Just started this today. 8 1/4 inches long 410 stainless liners and 440c blade. It will be a lockback swinguard with 1095 spring and nickel silver bolsters and buffalo horn scales. I do tend to over engineer things. I plan on it lasting a long time.

I will make another one just like this . I am giving this one to my nephew so i will make one for me. then I have a shit load of plans drawn up so I will just keep on making switchblades until I am old and cant do it anymore.

its right handed. I should have it finished in a few days then on to the next one whatever that may be.

Its 18 inches inside length. Its pretty awesome. so far I have treated 1095 and 440c stainless. that and the 2x72 grinder i got last year make knife making a lot easier and faster. I am just slow at making knives because i do it for fun not for a living.

Thanks. I will order a stamp tomorrow. I got myself one of these paragon kiln recently so heat treating is super easy. I can even heat treat stainless steel.

I drilled the backspring hole then thought it might need to be further down so i drilled another one just below it. I realized after i made the spring that i could have used the original hole.
