Re: Any way to get a good edge on an AKC stainless stiletto?
There's no simple answer, give me a call sometime and we'll make a plan. Even if you get stainless blade sharp it's too soft to hold an edge. Also, the thicker the blade, the harder this gets.

Ok, below 450 ...I call this a reverse auction. At some point somebody's going to start a crazy money dialog.

Check the domain registry, it may be expired. Someone pays the hosting bills, but forums run pretty much uncontrolled. The owner might have passed, and it continued to operate until the rent was past due.

Re: John does a rescale for ILikeStillettos
I actually got some of these pictures yesterday, but didn't get a chance to build a post out of them. Here goes! As stated, the plan is to attach the mammoth tooth scales with Torx screws, so in the next five shots John brazes some small brass squares to the liners in order to increase the thickness...

Re: John does a rescale for ILikeStillettos
OK, sharp eyed readers will note that there are two different knives in this post, the 11" pivot bolster bayonet rescale in mammoth tooth, and an 11" swinger in pieces which is going to happen in giraffe bone. More on that one later and in a separate post. John is being good enough to take on two pr...

Re: WTB 11" or 13" ROSCO Manual Bayonet Any Condition
Update: The marvelous Bellmont800 turned me on to a Rosco just like the one I had back in the day. Since it was fifty years ago I couldn't recall if it was an 11 or a 13, but once I got the 13 in hand, I knew it felt right. I also could only recall black, until I saw the green in these scales. My ol...

Re: Stiletto parts
Walt's has some and I think so does SD. You can get a 13" for about $75 or less if you aren't particular about scales. It might be worth tearing one apart just to use as patterns. If you can tolerate giraffe bone dust, there are really nice sets available for $30-60, great colors, very hard and smoo...

Re: new maltese lock back
I have some lovely giraffe bone coming and a fair stock of really nice Staburl and Acryliwood, or I could probably drop ship you something amazing. Do you have a band saw to cut 1/4" slabs from a 1.5" square block? Interested in a trade, like make two of those, I'll provide the scales and cash to ma...

Re: WTB 11" or 13" ROSCO Manual Bayonet Any Condition
note no hole in the lock tab of the Romo, it's a genuine transitional. That's a slip-joint, not a transitional (unless there is a category of manual trannies I am unaware of). Does it not fully lock, so you can shut it just by pressing on the blade? If so that is a slip-joint. Anyways, those look a...
