Re: Question about ShellPuller Knife

Because of the narrow drop point blade, I thought the top of the image a narrow drop point blade would be? I also thought that a drop-point blade is a standard blade? Can you enlighten me. With the word "normal" was my fault excuse. No, I think the confusion about the blade-type name might have bee...

Re: 440 stainless italy 9.5" ??

the 1998 stands for a '98 vette I used to own. I figured it was probably something like that. Your right, I think the one with red scales in the picture is a Taiwanese one. It really isn't too bad for a cheapie; that is definitely not a sign of Chinese construction. And the scales are kind of trans...

Re: Question about ShellPuller Knife

His first post says standard but the second says drop point but shows a picture of a standard blade so I wasn't sure what he meant.

Also, I meant to say the two pullers I linked to had "clip point" blades, not drop point blades.

Re: Question about ShellPuller Knife

You're in Germany? This might be your lucky day. I found these two on the Knife Shop: http://www.knifeshop.com/shop/USER_ARTIKEL_HANDLING_AUFRUF.php?darstellen=1&Kategorie_ID=235&Ziel_ID=1870&anzeigen_ab=0&sort=&order=&PEPPERSESS=6b239b498d4766f1ed5e4e5bba08c89f http://www.knifeshop.com/shop/USER_AR...

Re: Question about ShellPuller Knife

There have been several of those on the Sharper Deals auction site in the last few weeks. If you have checked that site out, here is a link: http://www.sharperdeals.net/index.php I'm not sure what a good price would be but you should be able to get one for a pretty reasonable price. I you keep an ey...

Re: 440 stainless italy 9.5" ??

The Taiwanese versions I bought a few years back are much better made. 1) Now that I think about it, the one in the picture might be a Taiwanese knockoff. Are there any ways to tell the Chinese from Taiwanese (I mean the knives)? 2) Welcome to the board JDP1998. Normally I don't try to involve myse...

Re: 440 stainless italy 9.5" ??

The springs on the Chinese ones snap quickly. Also the bolsters are really flat. Those Chinese knockoff actually aren't too bad for $15. They do snap pretty well. But when you say the bolsters are "really flat", you mean they are thin, right? I have a few Chitalians and they all have rounded bolste...

Re: 440 stainless italy 9.5" ??

Are you saying it says 'Italy' on one side and 'China' on the other? That's pretty funny if it does. Mr. JB, You don't really [/i] believe that's what he's saying, do you? I knew I had actually seen a knife that was stamped "USA" on one side and "China" on the other before. I finally found it; it's...

Re: "knife chest"?

I know someone who bought an old, but still nice, briefcase and cut the top out (like an inch from each edge) and installed a piece of plexiglass (it might have been real glass). It actually looked pretty cool.

Nice Mik!

I've seen that kind of blade on Mikovs before; can someone tell me what it's called (the blade-type, not the filework)?

Re: "Black Dagger" retracting guard knife

Tydy, Thanks dude! That was me that asked about the "Black Dagger" auto-retracting sheath. It was the first question I ever asked here; in fact, asking about that knife was the reason I sought out this forum. Here's the thread: http://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19400&p=233428#p233428 I s...

Re: Cheap knock off?

I kind of figured it was a Lightning but I am not "up" on the cheap sh*t. Actually, it's not the Lightning that is the knockoff of the Scarab but the Rumble. I don't know if that was a Rumble, however; I think that might a different Scarab knockoff. That one makes a much different sound than the Ru...

Re: The word "Leverletto"...

He responded, "No, better. They are real Hong Kong!" These guys really think their knock-offs are superior. I think it is their way of justifying a despicable practice. I can't tell you how many times I've overheard something like this: "Wow, is that a real Hong Kong handbag?" "No, it's just some l...

Re: Super Rare 15 Inch Kissing Crane Picklocks

I did not know it was a stiletto because I thought stilettos were front-opening knives LOL, and until I joined this forum Where does this extremely common misconception originate? The first discussion I took part in when I found TB was about having an employee/owner at a knife store tell you that t...
