1095 would be the cheapest, easiest, but again it will need heat treatment and temper, but you know that, right?

You can still buy the single springs, but if you insist it would be the same shape as the double spring and hold them together and measure with some calipers. You also know they will need to be heat treated and tempered?

As Bill says there's just not that many people that do this sort of thing. And the people that do make a living from it. So it's not cheap.

Monkeyleg short and long of it. Dremel the heads off carefully, tap them out with a punch. Buy brass pin stock, if it's too big chuck it in a drill and use a file to get it to size.
