Re: For Sale: Microtech Makora II
I'm game. Bona fides: been married 39 years to two women and have access to literally centuries of shared experiences of other husbands I've known. And wives.(More about that another time...) Conclusion: divide money equitably, open separate accounts, pool money only on special occasions like vacati...

Re: Clip point Mikov
As always, Ron's done a really killer job. The amboyna was perfect for the broad-scaled Mikov-plenty of room to show off the burl. Thanks, Monkeyleg, for the purty wood. I requested that Ron dress it up and, of course, he outdid himself. The guys down at the Hall are gonna be green when they get a l...

Re: Custom 13" Moletto
I had to wait quite a while to become the recipient of Ron's artwork, but the wait has certainly been worth it. All I've ever done is buy stuff and occasionally fix something when it's broken. It's a real pleasure and a privilege to possess something unique and personal that a craftsman has put hims...

Re: 11" do it yourself.
One just sold on SD in the last few days. If you were not the buyer, would you have any interest in an 11" dagger blade swinger kit? I seem no longer to have a use for it (I thought it was a bayo blade when I bought it-what I get for not paying attention). PM me if you want it.

Re: Everyday carry knife
Most of my life, I worked with my knife on a daily basis. I primarily relied on the original(440C-not 420 butter knife) Buck 110. I carried it and worked it for 40 years and it still has a usable blade. Sometimes I gave it a rest and toted an old Case Sodbuster liner-lock. Both tough-as-nails and se...

Re: Switchblade question
If this thread's here and the poll is next door, do we get to post twice on the same subject?
I'm good at that-just ask my wife.
Swedge, flat-grind, half-grind, bayonet, dagger, kris. In that order.
If I could organize everything else in my life like that, I'd be kickin' some serious butt.

Re: POLL: What is your favorite stiletto blade grind style?
I KNOW you considered your audience when you initiated a poll. 8) This should be immensely entertaining. You should wind up with at least 437 categories including a 14th generation one-of-a-kind once seen on a papyrus scroll, among others just now imagined/desired.The final vote should be something ...

Your English is a lot better than my German(or any other language, for that matter). I've studied a couple, German included, but have not used them, so I lost any fluency. You are doing the only thing that really improves language skills, using them. I admire your efforts and your results. Your mean...

Re: 2012 FORUM KNIFE
Put me down for a fish AND a machete/zombie killer. Really. I just bought my first fish and I'm in love with it(in a nice, healthy way).
I also have a grown son who's nuts about zombie stuff. I smell a 2012 Christmas gift in the making.

Beautiful scales on those shellpullers! Thank heavens they don't have buttons-I couldn't stand the financial strain.

Re: looking for fishing knife blanks
As another alternative, try a good butcher. They use these blade styles extensively and, of necessity, will know a good balance between quality and price. As a plus for rescaling, most meat-market knives come with two large, easy-to-remove brass rivets. The chefs' knives are often more difficult to ...

Re: Question about my AKC 11 inch
That is pretty normal. As long as it is just a little peek, something like 1/8" or less. I agree. At first, I thought it a bit unsightly, but I got over it when I realized that, for any individual spring, the more you have to compress it to close the blade, the stronger the rebound kick. Luuuvvv th...
