Re: Is anyone else on the board a "hat person"?
John: That is unique all right. Unfortunately, unless you are in severe winter garb, such headgear may be viewed as a bit out-of-place. (I would see it as just different). To each their own. I will occasionally don my dressage top hat for church ar a special function. When worn with a morning coat a...

Good luck with that. It sounds like my last date. She broke a spring and died from the injury!

AGA Campolin Zero Dagger Leverlock
These have an N690CO blade. This premium steel assures cutting power (even though it is a stiletto blade). It seems well built and could be somewhat utilitarian as long as the blade can have a decent edge put on it.
Does anyone have any experience with these knives?

Dressing in a distinctive and classic style makes me feel good and look sharp. I guess that it is okay to wear a ball cap, but I really enjoy dressing well and being complimented for it.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to post pictures from my little ACER notebook. (Heck, I don't even know how to use the camera). I have, 1) a cheap wool bowler, 2 & 3) two wool-rabbit fur blend bowlers from Reed Hill from Wappinger Falls, NY (black and Navy Blue. 4 a 1955 Champ fedora in "putty gray"...

Is anyone else on the board a "hat person"?
I buy handmade (bespoke) and "vintage" (1960's and earlier) fur felt dress hats. I prefer beaver fur to rabbit, but the hats I buy are all higher-end "vintage" or bespoke (custom) handmade headgear. I am very fortunate. In Eugene Oregon, Northwest Hats at 870 Pearl Street makes great beaver fur hats...

Re: What Smith and wesson knife is this
I stand corrected. That is the S&W Auto 1000 S (Serrated). I was referring to the later knives. The earlier knives were made here and from 440A steel I believe.

Re: What Smith and wesson knife is this
It says it right on the blade "US Army Issue" That's the name of Taylor's Chinese offering. The steel really wasn't too bad (7Cr17Mov). Not the best steel in the world, but it held a decent edge for being a Chinese Version of 440A. The aluminum handle was decent, but the enamel tends to wear away fa...

Re: Italian switch blade
A Leverletto is an excellent "light-duty" knife. I understand the desire for an Italian knife. Another option would be either a Frank or Armando Beltrame swivel lock or picklock with a flat-ground blade. These will also serve in a light-duty capacity, but not quite as well as a Leverletto. All the b...
