Re: 11" ring pull hoof shaped
That front scale almost looks as if it is Brazilian Horn. I'm almost certain that it is an AGA Camplin product.

Re: Can the AGA Campolin "Diana" be pressed into service?

I love the Catalan knives real deep bellied cutting blades and a fine clipoint for deft skinning work. I think your having a lot of fun buying at the m...

Oreste Dibon? They are making 11" (10.75") Fishtail Picklocks? I wish I had known. That's the knife I wanted!

Re: Speaking of Fishtails...
I have loved the pattern all my life (for at least the last 55 years). I became emotionally attached at the age of eight when dad first showed me his.
Go ahead, call me a sucker. (I can take it).

Speaking of Fishtails...
I just ordered a 10" AGA Campolin Fishtail Picklock with Brazilian Horn scales from Blade Play. (I know, I'm taking a big chance but it is the only place on the Internet that has them at a reasonable price). Those that are following the Fishtail Picklock saga can stay tuned. p.s.: It was the last on...

Re: Can the AGA Campolin "Diana" be pressed into service?
These are such impressive pocket knives. What I enjoy is their ability to be used rather than be relegated to a safe or drawer. There's a certain "siren song" that comes from a well-used blade (It is why they have been manufactured, you know).

The knife is 11" overall with a 4.5" blade (so says AGA Campolin).

Re: Can the AGA Campolin "Diana" be pressed into service?
Beautiful knife, Ian.
So many useable knives, so litte time and money! How long is the blade on the Catalana?
Belay that. I just looked it up. The 4.5" blade is big enough to handle larger skinning jobs.
Belay that Nautical Ignore that (last order, message).

Re: Can the AGA Campolin "Diana" be pressed into service?
I designed it. It's a good knife. Sorry, Bill. I had no idea. From great minds, come great knives. (I probably should have guessed). It looks like a knife that could be taken while hunting for small game, designed for skinning. This looks like a knife that should be taken into the field along with ...

Can the AGA Campolin "Diana" be pressed into service?
Many love the graceful, swoopy lines of the AGA Campolin "Diana" but can the good-sized clip-point blade be a good "pocket auto" seeing service for many cutting jobs? I feel a bit of a romantic attachment to the design of the knife, yet am unsure of how it would fare under EDC conditions.

Re: I have returned to the stage.
The Elks turned out to be a "one shot deal". That's okay. I'll probably be auditioning for the Lt Dann Band by the Spring of 2019.
