Waya,

Thanks for taking the time and effort to do that. It is only through efforts such as yours that many of the counterfitters can be stopped. You are indeed an asset to our fine hobby.

Livvie,

I too am partial to the Italian stiletto. If you decide to go the Bladeauction route, follow mrbigg's advice about the "Known by us in the loop as good ones" thread. Sellers on Bladeauction span the spectrum from horrible to excellent.

Let's see here, PushButton, Vagrant and Bill DeShivs all recommend the same thing. My method of sharpening has just changed. Gone are the gimmick sharpeners.

Livvie, Welcome to the forum. "Gravity" means that the blade relies on gravity to open. In short, no spring. "Switch" is short for switchblade, an automatic knife that opens using the energy obtained from a spring in compression. Normally a button is depressed to activate the spring. By "front end" ...

Vagrant, If you define an off-site deal as dealing directly with a seller as opposed to an auction, then that is pretty much all I do. Once a relationship with a seller is established, I just e-mail them asking if they have something and what is the price. BA may have been my initial source of conta...

Claudester, My understanding is that BA is owned by Josh (of PVK). There have been numerous reports of negative feedback mysteriously disappearing. As I have written before, for production knives, we have enough sellers listed as good ones that there is no real need to buy from an "unapprovd" seller...
