I think you have done an admirable job. I would expect you get many requests to reproduce this knife.

Butch
An old washing machine motor with a buffing wheel would work better. That's a cute little grinder, but it turns too fast and you need more room around the buffing wheel to work.

Fabuluster is a very good dry compound. I have used it extensively in the jewelry business. Zam seems to work better on steel. Using a Dremel on horn will be counterproductive. The polishing action is confined to too small a spot to get consistent results. Vagrant is correct. Tripoli, or other "medi...

Sand them with 320, then 400 grit automotive paper. Use it dry, and move to a different spot when it loads up. I then polish with 0000 steel wool, and buff with a 1725 RPM buffer, using green rouge. Mirror finish.

Most of the knives that show up are new production, and the real Weltersbach is out of business.
It's strange that these knives are rare, as Weltersbach was a primary manufacturer of "Springers." I already have the 10CM Springer and both sizes of the slimline.

Mr. Jerrbear
I suggest more fiber in your diet!
The Leverletto has both solid (front) and stamped hollow (rear) bolsters.

Mr. Jerrbear-
I'm not real familiar with the "Switch" line, but I assumed they used the heavy, stamped nickel plated bolsters.
My point is that everyone refers to "solid bolsters" on the old knives. They were not solid, but stamped hollow bolsters soldered to full liners.
Comprende?

The FB picklocks have full liners behind the bolsters. All factory knives use stamped, hollow bolsters. There is the misconception that the old knives used "solid" bolsters. Not so.

Need Weltersbach leverlock

I am looking for an 11 CM Weltersbach lever lock. The knife is the same size as the large Hubertus "Springer."
Anybody got one? Anybody seen one?
Thanks,
Bill

Bangie-
Yes! ;^)
I think these are NOS. I just bought one.
I have seen several instances of NOS or new assembly lead to a reissue of the knife, newly made. The swingguards come to mind.
