Re: Big wobble in the blade.

Nice! Wow, very nice job on that Killgar. Looks solid and beautiful. Thanks guys :) . Funny thing is, I originally bought the knife as a source of spare parts for another AGA Campolin Hunter that I rebuilt, but when I received the knife I thought it just looked too good to take it apart and use it ...

Re: Big wobble in the blade.

Nice work ! Thanks Tom. A compliment from you means a lot to me as well. :) Here's a pic of the knife in it's original condition (though not the best quality pic). The ring is still installed (as is the pivot pin). It was just a piece of brass rod bent round into a ring, with the ends cut with side...

Re: Big wobble in the blade.

I had the same problem with this AGA Campolin (Il Cacciatore/Hunter). The pivot pin was too long, and the blade was so loose it bounced back and forth between the liners. Peening pins is not in my skill-set, and I never bothered to make it so, instead I replaced the pin with a threaded barrel/screw ...

Re: Vendetta Corsa trapdoor

Being a trap door that would lead me to believe that its an auto. The idea being- with a trap door knife you have to push the tip of the blade against something and push it back into the handle, then the trap door flips down to cover the tip of the blade as it protrudes from the handle. If it were a...

Re: New Line Of Italy Stilettos

So, are knives being made specifically for the new brand (like Frank Beltrame makes knives for Latama)? If they are, cool. Or is the Dolphin brand cherry picking the best ones from a normal Frank Beltrame production run, putting their own stamp on them, and then selling them at a markup? And everybo...

Re: Movie Switchblades

According to an interview of S.E. Hinton I read, she was a tomboy, and the greasers in The Outsiders were based on a real gang of greasers that she hung out with. She said the original inspiration for the story that later became The Outsiders was an incident where one day she and a greaser friend we...

Re: Everyone's first Balisong?

I've only ever owned one butterfly knife, the one pictured below is not it, but it is an identical model, a Parker Cut Co. brand knife. I acquired the knife from a friend when I was 15, and it was my carry knife at home, but never away from home. I spent hours "flipping" it open and got pretty good....

Re: Movie Switchblades

In 133 pages of replies I might have missed a reference to this but does anyone have any suggestions as to what a dirt poor greaser like Johnny Cade was doing carrying high dollar German steel in his hip pocket? Seems like a Rizzy would have been more his speed. I know, it's just a movie and Hollyw...

Re: Frank B 2.0

I've had ten of the 11" FB 2.0's (I buy them for parts), and although most had a variety of significant flaws, none of them fired by touching the scale. Maybe a bad batch. Perhaps they didn't mill out the handle cavity enough. It sounds like the handle is pressing down on the rocker creating a hair-...

Re: AKC-Leverlock spring replacement?

As someone who has sought to purchase springs for Italian knives in the past, and has done extensive online searching on the subject, I have never found or heard of anyone who has ever been able to acquire a spring for an Italian knife from Italy (with the exception of the AGA Campolin Zero and Zero...

Re: How old are Rezno Pascotto's batwings?

The only time I've seen classic Italian switchblades with screw pivots were ones sold by John Benson. He removed the pivot pins and replaced them with screw pivots so the blades could be removed and the knife shipped in two pieces to try and sidestep the law against shipping switchblades. And I reme...

Re: Switchblades with Damascus Blade?

Latama sold several with Damascus blades. I don't think they offered any with rams horn handles though. You'd probably have to get lucky and find one of their Damascus blade knives on the second hand market. There have also been AKC Leverlettos with Damascus blades. Frank Beltrame also produced seve...

4.4 POUNDS!!!

I guess it won't be seeing much pocket time.

Beautiful knife though.
