Why do people love tanto?
The tanto blade seems horribly inefficient for any sort of stabbing type action, which is mildly ironic to me as it is often seen in many tactical self-defense oriented knives. The blades shape towards the front requires more force to penetrate than most any other type of knife point, so much so tha...

Re: 8 customized Mikovs available
Mine does not have an engraved pin and may not be representative of the workmanship on these specific knives.

Re: Not Sure About This One
Probably isn't even real - You can't tell anymore what's REAL and what's NOT. The knife doesn't look like it's in deep enough to stand out like that and the tattoo is a little too "convenient." I think it looks a bit fake too, look closely at his nose, it appears huge Also, who trys to stab someone...

Re: automatic OTF
I have seen some Chinese OTFs that had finger holes, I wouldn't exactly call them knuckledusters though as I dont think they would stand up to much abuse.

Re: Who made this OTF?
Not trying to be offensive, but it's a low quality (relative to the originals) copy of a microtech design. (from the looks of it, it's a troodon clone) The original designer of the knife would be Tony Marfione (or someone working for him), the actual maker of that specific knife is most likely an un...

Re: 8 customized Mikovs available
I love these and I still love my turkish walnut mikov with a beautiful fileworked blade and backspring that I got many years ago in a similar sale. I did however want to mention that anyone looking to buy one of these should know they are handmade and therefore may have small imperfections (such as ...

Re: Are you tired of the stigma attached to "switchblade"?
It has been nearly 57 years since the Interstate Commerce Commission (and the Department Of Justice) banned the interstate mailing/shipping of "switchblade knives" to the general public, giving them the "forbidden fruit" status. The "sheeple" still gnaw on this "old bone" that has since been amplif...

Re: Everyday carry knife
I've probably already mentioned this but my favorite EDC is my Bradley Mayhem, this thing is TOUGH, I've used it to cut through extension cords and various things that a blade should be expected to endure regularly and only ever had it sharpened twice over multiple years, it's still like a razor, s3...

Re: Are you tired of the stigma attached to "switchblade"?
Where I come from (charlotte NC) no one really seems to care or notice as long as it's a side opener, OTFs sometimes get a weird look or a question but most people still assume that they are some kind of unique box cutter type system and rarely assume they are illegal. The only people who have ever ...

My mother interviewed him twice for her radio show.
I always preferred Next-Gen myself, but Leonard Nimoy was definitely one of the best Sci-Fi actors to ever have lived.

Re: NORML.org
I have serious issues with the way the "War on Drugs" in this country has been handled. Do you guys realize that congress differed entire authority, as far as "drugs" go to the FDA and the United Nations (Section 811, Subsection D) through the Federal Controlled Substances Act of 1970. I'm not even ...

Re: Superbowl
I enjoyed it
My grandfather did not however, he wound up telling me I could go engage intercourse with myself and the horse I rode in on too.
Some people are sore losers.
Also, my boss is a patriots fan so I had a great next day at work too.

Thanks for all the replies.
Honestly, I'm just glad that I got to keep my knife and didn't go downtown. Though, I really wish the whole incident could have been avoided in the first place.

Re: The nastiness of switchblades?
I know that my local PD has confiscated a few cheapo OTFs from some low level criminals. They most likely get them at gun shops or flea markets, and probably overpay by quite a bit more than their worth. I've nearly had an OTF confiscated from me, I doubt it would have ended up in any evidence locke...

Nearly had my OTF taken in questionable search
I already touched on this in another thread but I'll give the full story here as it was quite intense and questionably legal on the officers' part. I was in a car with some friends and the front headlight had died earlier that day, the owner of the car was not able to get it replaced on such short n...
