short stuff
. It would be interesting to see some sort of pie chart or bar graph or something that portrays what percentage of switchblades fall into different size categories..... for instance, 5" to 6" -- 6" to 7" -- 7" to 8" -- and so on. During the past two or three years, I have picked up some "shorties" w...

Is it possible to assign a rough date of manufacture to this knife?
I suspect Mexican switches were probably made the same for an
extended period of time.....?

being replaced by Elizabeth Shue as "Jennifer" in the "Back to the Future" movies..........

You can get almost the exact same style for half the money if you can accept a side-open model.
I bought this Piranha "Prowler" a year ago for $155. The blade is 3.25" instead of 3.5" but otherwise
the knives are remarkably similar.

Just phenomenal craftsmanship. I'm surprised "the agency" hasn't put you under contract.
...........or..... have they....?
----never mind. I don't want to know. It might not be healthy.

I now have the Richter and the Latama back home. The restorations turned out great!
The blade peek has been fixed and all the parts have been cleaned up, inside and out.
BTW, the Latama seems quite small at 8" -- is this an uncommon size....?

Other Collector Associations....?
. Does anyone know of other associations for switchblade collectors? I realize that there are groups within social media like FB; but something like that is not a group created BY and FOR collectors...... it is a group that is ALLOWED by a corporation and CONTROLLED by that corporation. Doesn't coun...

I would definitely want an extremely sharp blade for a "church knife" so I could slit my own wrists and bleed out.
I was forced to go to Sunday School for years as a kid and will never sit through another long boring sermon again.

PP is not foolproof -- crooked sellers will sometimes send a package containing dead weight (rocks, etc.) that approximates
what the real product would weigh.... this enables the seller to provide a tracking number and collect the dough.

Re: 1860's German Kris switchblade
. Okay, technically the Industrial Revolution began around the mid-18th century.... but still, if you transported back to 1820 you would not regard their manufacturing to be very advanced. The big innovations in machine technology really took off in the last quarter of the 19th century; and it was t...

Re: 1860's German Kris switchblade
. The Industrial Revolution had not yet begun by 1868 and the manufacture of this knife would have been fairly costly. This was not intended for a worker or merchant; it was a concealed weapon for wealthy gentlemen, professional gamblers, etc. It's interesting to speculate on the handle material; an...

Re: Grind Works Selling FAKE AKC knives?
. The quickest way is the two piece kick spring with an extra pin holding it. Also the brass frame is actually plated steel and will attract a magnet. Now this is useful information.... but could somebody expand on the statements that the safety, pins, and grind are wrong? Just hearing that they are...
