Re: Are Kris blades a "working" blade profile?
I can design one, I can visually see what I want in my imagination, but almost nobody can produce one. A functional edge depends upon an angle of 25° or less between faces. Take an average 5/8" wide blade with a dagger profile, that means the height of the centerline is 5/16" and if the blade is 1/8...

Re: Vintage German WWII fantasy switchblade
Russian Prison Knives also feature Nazi logos sometimes, much like American prison tattoos. It's counter culture and white racist propoganda.

Re: Renzo Pascotto Collection
With all due respect, Mick17, Maniago does not seem interested in new Italian Stiletto designs. I've done dozens of them, even sent a few to Angelo who said that he didn't have enough builders to try them . My collection contains multiple knives from multiple curlers whom I have commisioned to build...

OK, that's really ugly. You'll have to offer more than $150 for someone to take it off your hands.

Re: Walt's 13" Picklocks
As I know it, the stamp Pascotto, Renzo with the anvil is his personal brand and follows the Italian convention of surname first. The stamp Renzo Pascotto is used on prototypes and ones he claims as personally built. All 13" Walt's were built by RP at one time regardless of being so stamped. As Renz...

It would look great in brass and dark horn. How do you feel about using brass? Anyway, here is the Frosolone that Dave is referring to...

Re: What’s the deal with..
I've owned half a dozen of them all purchased from Mike Kovalenko out of the Ukraine. Like the man said, unusual shapes, firing and locking mechanisms. Mike is good to deal with, low prices, never misrepresents and when he offers, the sale completes in minutes. I doubt that the are truly Russian, or...

Re: Don Choura, 1/5/19 RIP
This is such sad news!!! I really liked Don a lot! My prayers are with his wife and family. Thank you Dave for giving us the news. Like Billy Joel said in his song, "Only the good die young!"   I spoke to Mike Hansen, George Cameron and Duke Charlesworth on the phone last night afte...

Don Choura, 1/5/19 RIP
http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx296/dnlsause/DonC/s209.jpg It is with deepest regret that I must inform you of the passing of DonC at the age of 77. Because it was brought to my attention that Don hadn't posted in a while, I attempted to reach him by phone. After half a dozen tries, his wife, ...

Re: New AGA black widow
The one with the three dots is 720 euros, the stag 600. It's a fulcrum release 11" x 5 mm. Only $800 for the first one, such a deal. (Personally, I would get Jeremy to build me a 13" for 40% less and get a steel blade instead of the stupid stainless.)
