Re: Origin of Swivel Bolster
VOSGTC I think Latama had swivel bolsters as early as 1954 ,and they were used on Transitional knives from 1960 onward. I think people like picklocks of today being made in the fine quality sturdy form of the old knives, and keeping up the tradition of the old italian makers . I love both types mys...

Re: AKC Speed Hunter
If I had the "liquid assets" I would like one of the Due Bois Lever action autos. Their 440C flat grind blade is tempered properly and it is built for rugged, daily use (EDC).

I thought that they were one and the same. They are, indeed, Campolin.

Re: The new lower-cost AGA F-16 D/A OTF stilettos.
Tryker do you like them? tom i do, i got a black one to play with and so far i'm happy with it, the other 4, red, white, blue, and a black with wood like insert have been tucked away in the underwear drawer. I'd be careful about sticking them in my underwear. An accidental opening could prove painful...

Re: Carrying a push button stilleto
I LOVE that Due Bois "Thorn" forged blade stiletto. Its unique blade lock is quite special. The blade lock/release is quite strong, and since the blades are forged and well-assembled, it should provide excellent service.

Re: AKC Speed Hunter
You may have to go to Blade HQ or another stateside distributor for the AKC line. I, too like the Speed Hunter. If the steel in the Speed Hunter were available in a true 440C or 9cr19Mov steel blade it would be a superb small game, pocket-carry auto.
This is just one man's opinion.

Re: A "bowie" for Vagabund
I like it! It reminds me of Fritz The Cat's "Duke" character's switchblade. I have always preferred the "clip point" blade in a carry knife (especially an automatic). The stiletto blade offers limited cutting ability. This is why I prefer the Italian "Fishtail" picklock configuration. (It is also th...

Ah, a "unicorn".
In the swaying vagaries of the automatic knife world, that's how these things seem to take place.
Strange.

Re: 9" AB ATS-34 Blackhorn handle Picklock
I wish that I could afford to buy that knife. (I would use it as an EDC that I have always wanted). Contrary to popular belief, that knife would be quite useful as a light-duty knife that would also serve as a PDW if called upon in that capacity, wouldn't it?

Re: The new lower-cost AGA F-16 D/A OTF stilettos.
Hooray, hooray! The AKC F-16 is a genuine Armando Beltrame knife from Italy! (Just make sure that you buy from a reputable dealer so that you don't get slipped a fake). Arthas messaged me and told me to spread the word so that everyone will be on the lookout for phony copies. "Caveat emptor." (Let t...
