If the bolster is rubbing the scale, just keep moving it until the scale wears.
The other possibility mentioned-that the finger guard is hitting the liners is plausible. If this is the case, bend it up a little with flat-nosed pliers.

Excuse Tom. It's the engineer in him that makes him talk that way!
Pivot- turn a common nail down by filing it while chucked in an electric drill. Same with the other pin stock. The pivot pin has to be a snug fit, or the blade will sit high.
Tom's method will work, too!

Are you trying to lift the lock tab, or to push the bolster down?
If bolster is too stiff, try wiggling blade side-to-side. Oil bolster. You can tap the pivot pin with a tack hammer, with the opposite side unsupported. Then do the same on the other side. This will loosen the rivet slightly.

Nope. I've shared the information with very few people.
The SOGs are great knives. I carry one every day.

SOG Flash conversions

I just saw a thread where someone was complaining about the quality of a SOG conversion that he bought.
I designed this conversion, and can assure everyone that, when properly done, they are of the quality that is expected of my work.
I have no control over other's workmanship.

I just found this thread. I designed the SOG conversions. When properly done, they are very fine knives. The safeties should work. I think most knives should have safeties, but even I never use the one on the SOG. When properly converted, these knives are very safe. They should not drop open, either...

There are 2 lever springs. The main one pushes the locking pin down. The cover pushes up against the lever.

They were not plated, except on the lever spring cover.

Sonny 1095 or 01 can be heat treated with a propane torch.
Get real, high temperature silver solder, not the 400 degree 4% stuff.

Steel is available from http://www.kovalsupply.com
Just get plain 1095, not precision ground. Blade can be filed to get the bevels, and polished with wet/dry sandpaper. Small (very) ball peen or tack hammer. It will be a tough job with a hacksaw, but can be done.

Go ahead and get some 1095 high carbon steel. No sense in doing it twice. Drill the pivot hole first. Pin the blade to your blank. Clamp it down, and drill the others through the blade holes. Leave the blank wider than the finished blade, or it WILL sit proud. Grind the blank to shape after you have...

Damned if I know!
They are all made that way.
I think you can hard-solder the backspring.
