Love that ramp on the blade for the firing sear pin release. (That reduces wear on the sear pin).
Great piece!

Re: IMCO picklock
Very nice! A beautiful old piece. That's about 1950 vintage, isn't it?

Re: The Speed Hunter arrived today.
15 years ago I picked up some "case Queens" But I have pretty much given up on new knives that either can't, or won't, lend themselves to carry. About 1 1/2 years ago I bought a Queen #1L Stag Scale Swing guard that had been converted to automatic. The Queen escutcheon was made into the firing butto...

Re: The Speed Hunter arrived today.
I turned 63 on 12/01/17. Time on this earth is limited for all. This is the main reason that I prefer "working knives". Honest marks on a knife illustrate that it hasn't sat in someone's desk or sock drawer gathering dust and rust.

Re: The Speed Hunter arrived today.
So many become ensnared in aesthetics. While I love a great looking knife if the "dog won't hunt" it can only serve its time sitting in your lap. This isn't the point of the "working breed". Honest wear is not only a badge of honor, it adds character.

Re: I know you designed the Leverletto, but...
I see. Well, at least the Leverletto came from good stock. I'll use my slim line and think of you, Bill. It should be well worth the carry time.

Re: The Speed Hunter arrived today.
I found it. I customized it with Buffalo horn. That is the way a "man's knife" should look! Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but functional as well. This is the way I like my pocket autos. Useful, beautiful, and razor sharp. A true "working" knife need not be ugly. Beauty and utility aren't m...

Re: AGA Campolin Zero
These look nice, but I prefer something I can use (take a look at my recent purchases and you'll see). While these are impressive, They will probably return limited utility. If they re well-made, they could garner some artistic interest. Ol' "practical pig" rides again. p.s. The N690Co steel ...

Lovely knives. Have you purchased any for personal use? The 3.25" handle and the 2.5" blades on those little lever locks seem handy, "pocketable" and quite useful.john wrote:I really like those 6” mini leverlock knives. I customized these three: White MOP, Blue MOP Laminate, Blond Horn
Are they?

Don't drag my sister-in-law into this! (By the way, they'll be harpooning hunting for her next week off Washington State's Cape Disappointment).
Does the configuration of the Chinese knife work well as a carry/cutting implement?

Did you have any part in designing the AKC slim line? They look almost identical except for the bolster quillions.

How did he "improve" the knife? Was it simply cosmetic?

This AKC lever lock should be a nice addition to my carry rotation. The "swedge" blade has a certain appeal to it. Does anyone own one of these? How amenable is it to pouch, or pocket carry?
Inquiring minds want to know.

You're right. The Ripper doesn't need a safety. This knife will be great for display. As you know, my personal configuration will make it far more amenable to carry and use. Evidently, you agree.

Re: The Speed Hunter arrived today.
Thanks, Ian. I am feeling a bit better and am performing at our local Elks Lodge on the piano and performing my own acerbic form of stand-up. The Speed Hunter is a marvelous knife. The spring in my sample literally "sings" with a twang as the knife snaps open. The scales are much like those in the f...
