Re: DK ONLY Knives?

Here's the knife. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/F90AAOSwH1pb9Cfa/s-l1600.jpg This is going to be a great addition (the "crown jewel" to my fixed knife collection). 8) I'd be willing to bet that this will be a good "skinner" as well as a general camp knife. While it may be a bit ...

Re: DK ONLY Knives?

To make a long story short, I bit. For $82.99 I bought a 15.5" long D2 Steel Long Clip Point Bowie Knife from DK ONLY handmade knives in Bloomington, Indiana. Hand forged and hardened to between 59 and 60 Rockwell Hardness, this beauty has a 10" blade and a long clip point. I'll let everyo...

Re: I have ordered two (2) Marble's Bolo Camp Cleavers

"Wally" and "Theodore" (The Marble's Camp Cleaver twins) are performing "yeoman" service in the house. The investment of $30.00 was more than worth it.

DK ONLY Knives? (There's a picture link in my latest post).

I have been lusting for a D2 Steel Bowie-type knife and have been looking over The DK ONLY collection of knives. They hover between $79.99 and $119.99 for sheath knives that range between 10 and 13 inches of blade.

Does anyone have any experience with DK ONLY knives?

Re: Ontario Knife Company "Marine Raider" Bowie knife

My Ontario Knife Company Marine Raider Bowie arrived at 3:38 this afternoon. I am impressed with this knife! (Even the sheath is good looking). I put the knife to my Lansky honing steel and the 1075 High Carbon took a quick edge. I expect good performance from the 9.75" clip-point blade and It ...

Re: I am considering an Ontario Military Machete (18" blade)

Ian: Isn't it strange how that works? The Ontario Military Machete has been doing its job for 76 years now. The formula works. (If it isn't broken don't "fix" it). So many newcomers to the machete (field knife) market attempt to supersede the old "tried and true" methods with lim...

Re: Ontario Knife Company "Marine Raider" Bowie knife

They have moved to a 1075 High Carbon Steel to avoid chipping under heavy use. The Ontario Knife Company Metallurgist explained it in great detail on Blade Forums. This should be a knife that is well worth having.

Re: I am considering an Ontario Military Machete (18" blade)

I took the Machete to a Lansky Honing Steel and it took a sweet edge within 10 minutes. Now it is prepared for bushcraft and brush clearing. I love it when a "Made In the USA" product delivers outstanding performance shortly after unboxing. If you buy one of these, you won't regret it for ...

Re: I am considering an Ontario Military Machete (18" blade)

My Ontario Military Machete arrived via UPS today. It will need some attention from my crockery sticks to attain a nice edge. (A 30-degree angle should be just about right for this piece of 1095 American High Carbon Steel). I believe that I'm really going to like this.

Ontario Knife Company "Marine Raider" Bowie knife

I have been looking these over as an alternative to the Smatchet. It seems that the .25" spine of the 1095 Carbon Steel Blade is substantial and lends itself well to camp chores and other heavy work.

Does anyone own one? If so, What is your opinion of their quality for the price paid?

Re: I am considering an Ontario Military Machete (18" blade)

I just recently picked up an Ontario with a saw blade on the back that I'm going to do some mods to. starting with cutting it down to 10'' blade with a rounded tip for digging, then reshape the handle . on the ass end of the blade I'll put a 2'' Scandi grind. this should work well in the bush. Inte...

Re: I am considering an Ontario Military Machete (18" blade)

The Ontario Military Machete was shipped today and should be here on Friday (or so says Amazon). The next stop will be another Smatchet.
