Krakenten That has already been done. It's called the Leveretto and the prototype is shown on my web site. Your "Leverauto" prototype! OAL: either 5" or a larger 7" (pereferably 5".) This is for the sake of easy carry. I saved the image to my computer! Would you please make...

Is there any way that we can suggest to BOTH SKM and Francesco Beltrame to retool and ressurect these knives? With modern steels, thes could prove to be a less expensive alternative to FAR more expensive domestic manufacturers. (Benchmade, Dalton, et. al.) Perhaps we could inspire the Maniago crowd ...

"The one BIG advantage the old picklocks had was a carbon steel blade STRONG beats shiny every time in my book IF the BO/C in the picture had a carbon steel blade, I'd knock the guards off and make it my EDC 90% of the time." - Vagrant. A strong, SHARP, and durable auto... What a concept! ...

I agree.

The back spring on my FB Picklock is what further reinforced my belief that the Picklock was the strongest locking system available. I had NO idea that that the button open/close configuration was so strong. "The one BIG advantage the old picklocks had was a carbon steel blade STRONG beats shin...

I stand corrected!

When open the blade is supported by the pivot pin, the lock channel and a backspring that is [almost] TWICE as thick as this "picklock" spring, and it's one from a larger picklock  http://images114.fotki.com/v970/photos/1/133294/491435/buttonopncloz-vi.jpg What I DON'T understand is...

Since we have NO clue what they are planning, [other than "pocket"] a couple thoughts are approriate  IF it is "Stiletto style" the guards HAVE to go  Guards will catch on anything else in the pocket  That means a picklock or a button open/button close  P...

Re: Off-duty carry.

Outside, I am careful to carry my 3" barreled, 1991-vintage Charter Arms Buldog chambered in .44 S&W Special. Scott I'm more of an "auto guy" AND I DON'T "go out of my way" to needlessly agree with pepole. But, IF you have to carry a revolver there are NOT many better c...

Off-duty carry.

Since I can't even carry a pocket knife on duty, (anything can be turned against you inside the Facility) we know the name of THAT tune! Outside, I am careful to carry my 3" barreled, 1991-vintage Charter Arms Buldog chambered in .44 S&W Special. To back THAT up, I simply drop my SOG Flash ...

Benchmade has a brand-new OTF with a D2 steel blade called the Infidel. It will outperform any other OTF regardless of price or place of manufacture. MSRP: $450.00. I believe this to be the be-all, end-all in the world of OTF knives. It should outlive 4 generations of the original purchaser and stil...

not enough choices in your poll. D. they already have working Italian knives ..... I choose this one. All the lever locks make great users , well built and will stand up to lots of abuse. The speedhunter , although short lived , is/was another great knife for E.D.C. For a stiletto that is truly usa...

Either one would be easy to replace. The cost of a blade or blade repair would probably be more than a sear. But if you want to get technical. The sear would cost time. Remove bottom pin, remove scale pins, remove sear pin, plus cost of sear and pins, then reverse, place sear pin, place scale pins,...

Dick Carroll wrote:Don't think you really want a sear that hard. The blade would suffer. I'd rather wear out a sear than a blade any day....

Dick: I'm not that worried about the blade. Either a D2, or ATS-34 are going to last a LIFETIME! The sear would be more difficult to replace, wouldn't it?
