Re: AKC Gravity Knife

I have one also. Mine is a satin blade, not black. The button/lever is slightly awkward to reach. It is sticky on retraction and I usually have to shake or wiggle the blade when I retract the blade. It snaps out just fine. The wood scales can be unscrewed, but the frame is riveted m, so I haven’t be...

Firecracker OTF is pretty sweet little clicker

I haven’t bought any auto knives in a while and lately started carrying a few of my dinky lever locks or little Protech in office slacks. Years ago I had a UTX-70 for a few days but the cost:knife ratio pissed me off and I sold it. Plus the little bastard misfired a few times... So now I wanted anot...

Re: Why do you favor automatics over other knives?

Forbidden fruit. I wanted one bad as a kid, couldn't get it and now I am a middle-aged kid with disposable income who owns way too many switches, a bunch of silencers and shootin irons and other James bond stuff. My own kids think they are kind of interesting but don't get too excited, especially ov...

Re: What's the scoop on the H&K Benchmade Tumult OTF?

Please let us know how it is. Got it today, this one: http://www.bladehq.com/images/knives/Benchmade/benchmadehktumultsatinplain.jpg It looks surprisingly similar to the pic....Handle is about as exciting as my plain Jane Troodon. It has fired perfectly all day. Fires even if I move it "UP" in the ...

Re: New Stiletto Style OTF

I dunno. As pictured by OP, the knife has a funky 1950s Flash Gordon look.

Flash Gordon knife. I kinda like it.

Re: Ultratech or Troodon?

I have a Troodon with Wharncliffe blade that is about perfect as a using OTF for the pocket. I also have a UT 2 that would be fine, but it has raised ridges that are hard on pockets, and a double edge blade that looks like a fighting knife. The UTX disgusted me, and I sold it in a week. $170 bucks f...

Re: Cold steel triple action

The Kershaw E.T. has more coolness, IMHO. I have a plain edge one, and there are about 20 ways to open it one handed.

Troodon activation is too stiff, ideas?

Disclaimer: I'm not knowledgeable about MT. Posted this at Microholics, looking for other ideas. I have a Wharncliffe Troodon that is a user. It is a lot stiffer to activate than my MT UT2, to the point that if I use my weakhand thumb or hands are wet it can be pretty difficult to work the actuator....

Re: Pahzermesser otf

The Panzermesser (tank knife) was made in the late 1960s-mid 1970s. The frame is zinc, not steel. There was a plastic version, also. They were sold by the Anton Wingen company in Germany. I don't know where they were made (possibly Solingen) or by who. Panzer means "panther". The WWII Panzer tanks ...

Re: who makes the Titan OTF?

Are they making these in single-edged blades yet? My yellow Lightning (ver 2) lives on the pegboard by my workbench, and has given good hard service, and looks like it. I'd like to have another clicky uitility knife that is even better.

TY,

Re: Hypothet: Best auto KNIFE for vicious attack in Fictionland!

But...the leverlock folding Stinger type thing j.a.c. posted is pretty novel. It needs to be threaded for a can, methinks.
