Re: Compact balisong on bearing

Impressive cutlery. I especially like the quite small blade with that shape. Looks like a good utility tool for general carry. :)

Re: Review of Benchmade Morpho 51 and 32

Story continues. The replaced liner broke again in exactly the same way as before, this time with only a few weeks of use: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m35/polaria_2006/Others/4044F215-D6D6-4BB9-82DE-6D18D8FFFBAB_zpsw6z9tej6.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m35/polaria_2006/Others/DAE02D...

Re: Review of Benchmade Morpho 51 and 32

Morpho 32 got back from the maintenance with a ticket that the liner has been changed, screws re-adjusted, mechanism oiled and blade sharpened for free. The warranty service was very efficient since it took less than a four weeks for the knife to travel from Europe to Oregon and back. Interestingly ...

Re: Review of Benchmade Morpho 51 and 32

Benchmade Morpho 32 Unlike the Morpho 51 this one I got with the clear intention to use it as my daily carry knife. And I did. The reasons why I'm not carrying it now will become clear later in the text... In any case as you read the review, like before, bear in mind my point of view: Day-to-day, 2...

Re: Audatia

Audatia project is on its last fundraising week and we've gathered enough so that the game and at least all the followinf expansions will be printed: - Lady fighter (one more character to augment the three earlier options) - Armour (now you can fight with armour!) Two more goals remain: - If we get ...

Re: Audatia

Here is a promotional video explaining how the game works. From 4:10 onwards is the really cool stuff where they show examples of play with the cards first and then how the moves just used in card game would look in real world with real swords: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JffsYOwhtbc&feature=play...

Re: Audatia

Although is no "manual of techniques" written by Vikings they did leave quite a collection of combat stories in the Sagas. Archeologist and martial arts instructor Antony Cummings has done some research on the Viking combat arts based on the weapons, later medieval techniques used with the same weap...

Audatia

Now this is maybe more appropriate for the sword enthusiasts, but as its not stricktly speaking about the objects called swords I'll dump it here in the off-topic just to be safe. Now without further introduction if you hold any interest on how late-medieval swords work and how did the people fight ...

Re: Boker plus balisong

Except for the distinctly different blade shape it looks like 1-to-1 clone of a Morpho, which is a damn good knife. But sadly much depends on the work quality of which I can't say anything unless I get my hands on one first.

Re: Bowie tlatch & bushing

A small balisong with bowie blade. 115w8, full hardening, and Ta6V4 handle. The blade is 3 mm thick, , 8.5 cm sharp, flat grind, 12.5cm closed, 21 cm long, hardened 100c6 tang pins. 1.2 cm thick to the screw. Stainless steel bushing, but without the right shop that is a bit boring to make a perfect...

Really nice look. I especially like that blade shape. Somehow reminds me of Laguoile pocket knives.

Re: how much does my dagger costs?

If you want a better questimate of the price, take a close up picture of all insignia and other markings (no matter how small) there are in the blade and scabbard. It might be possible to date the blade more accurately and possibly get some information on where its from. The Mauser 98 and its bayone...

Re: Kiribali or balidashi

For the blade profil, that is simply because i make a lot of kiridashi and a guys asked me for another balisong with that blade profil :D Well thats a clear reason :) If I can judge it roght from the pictures the blade seems to be unsymmetrically sharpened, with grind only on the right side, correc...
