The Passing of Pete Wehs aka Tequiza

It is with great sadness I report that Tequiza is no longer with us. This message from Pete's wife was sent to me by a mutual friend: "I'm sorry to say that Pete died in the hospital on Sat., June 15 of heart failure, kidney failure, inability to breathe, you pick it. I was there and watched the nur...

Isn't "Agua Rio" a bit redundant. Is that to distinguish it from the "Rio Alcohol" TJ has been famous for over the years??

Check our Ensenada and Hussong's Cantina. My father spent some time in there back in 1930.

Misadventure and malicious mischief ascribed to microbrews! What a neatly reasoned theory! I think you are on to something, Jim.

Mayberry crime update: The wild women have been quite busy with the usual stuff; drunk driving, resisting arrest, failure to appear, shoplifting etc..... But what is the cause of all this misbehavior? Too much allergy medication? Disbandment of the Mayberry Quilting Bee and Regional Sewing Guild? T...

That certainly speaks to the hand built nature of these fine pieces. Great work and wonderful set. Thanks for posting these pictures!

Art of the Switchblade Book available

The Art of the Switchblade by Neal Punchard and Dan Fuller. This terrific book was published in 2012 and is no longer available. I ended up with two copies as my daughter bought me one for my birthday not knowing I already had one. The one I am selling is pristine, unread and effectively brand new. ...

Re: It was 30 years ago today

Yes, that was an exciting time, the end of the GDR and the Fall of the Wall. For those who did not live through that epoch, I suggest the movie "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold". Starring Richard Burton (without Liz T. thank God), this story provides a feel for the fear, loathing and paranoia, not...

Re: Walt's 13" Picklocks

Great looking pieces! I am a bit confused by the two distinctly different marks of Renzo Pascotto on these knives. None of them looks like the usual mark he puts on his pieces, see picture below. These are more like signatures, but in two distinctive styles. One is "Pascotto Renzo", a common order f...
